I came across his Instagram page from a friend of mines, and I loved his approach and the natural feel his images had. The images didn't try too hard and felt really authentic. Each image truly tells a story.
In this episode, we chat about how he started as a plumber to now a professional photographer, gaining a large number of followers, losing inspiration, finding tranquility & appreciating the importance of slowing down (especially during COVID), most memorable travel experiences, what he enjoys the most about photography and what most people don't know about him.
Taylor actually has an online course/workshop on landscape photography. He was kind enough to give my listeners 35% off! Use code "OHCANADATMB" at checkout. Check it out at taylorburk.com
I am joined by the wonderful Zakia Karmal. Zakia is a 23 years old and is from Vancouver. We actually danced together back in the day! She is a recovering alcoholic and addict, but more than that she is a daughter, a friend, a student, and a partner. She struggled for upwards of 6 years with alcoholism, addiction and an eating disorder and she is here to share her story of what it was like and how she got help to get to where she is today. As well as she’d like to share some awareness of what addiction does to a person and their family to those who have experienced it. She hopes that by sharing some part of her story, it'll help someone struggling and give them hope.
I was SO honored that Zakia trusted me to share her story and to use my platform to help others struggling. This is at the top of one of my favorite episodes that I've recorded. THANK YOU ZAKIA - you are an angel.
In this episode, we chat about her story with addiction, going to rehab, seeking help, what others/loved ones can do with someone that is struggling, how she stays grounded and how she consistently works on herself every day. Highly highly recommend listening to her story and sharing it.

I am joined with Jake Thiel & Phil Berna - also known as Snake and Goose. They are Canadian Men Rugby Sevens Players and both played in the Tokyo Olympics this year. They also have their own podcast: Snake & Goose the Podcast. I’ve had a few athletes on the pod and I always find it so fun to get to hear their stories and learn more about it - I really don’t know much about rugby as a profession, but Jake and Phil shared really good insight into what it's really like to be an athlete, from payment, brand sponsorships, the rigorous training & traveling. They are absolutely hilarious and I had so much fun chatting with them. They talked about how they met (spoiler: it was love at first sight), the realities of playing a sport that has physical limitations, mental health, trying to balance a social life, and building a brand for themselves. Make sure to comment on my Instagram @wellnowwhatpodcast that Jake looks like he drives a Kia Soul.
I highly recommend checking their pod if you want a good laugh! @snakeandgoosethepodcast

I am joined by the inspiring Kristie Elliot. Kristie is currently a 21-year-old student at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver. She is also on the SFU Football team and is the 1st Canadian woman to play & score in an NCAA football team. Her story is kind of funny on how she joined the team. It started with a $40 bet with an SFU football player that entailed her kicking a 40-yard field goal. She was on the track team, but never kicked a football before, that didn’t stop her and she was able to make it and take video footage of it. From there she got messages from the other guys on the team and eventually got in touch with the head coach.
We chat about her journey joining a team of 80+ men, facing adversity as the only female on the team, falling in love with Football, how she balances friends, football, and school, body confidence & dating. Such a fun episode!
