Ewhurst is a rural village and civil parish in the borough of Waverley in Surrey, England. It is located 8.3 miles south-east of Guildford, 2 miles east of Cranleigh, and 4.5 miles south of Shere. As you can imagine it’s a small town, quiet. The sort of place where everyone knows each other.
And there’s a strong congregation to the local church. It’s a friendly, welcoming place, and the Priest often calls on members of his flock to chat and administer whatever he can to the people.
So when a new member of the community moves into the area, he duly feels almost obliged to make an extra effort to make fresh faces welcome. He felt it was down to him to introduce the new person to the congregation, to really go the extra mile.
When he finally caught the man in, he introduced himself and they had a pleasant chat and a cup of tea. The man, who said his name was Eric, wanted to live somewhere where the constant throb of the city was far away, optional rather than continuous.
