In this episode, Jenn Payeur sits down with Dr. Aimie Apigian to explore the profound impact of trauma on our health and well-being. Dr. Aimie shares her personal journey from conventional medicine to becoming a leading expert in trauma healing, inspired by her experience as a foster-adoptive mother. Together, they discuss the difference between stress and trauma responses, how trauma accumulates over time, and the ways it can be passed down through generations—both through nervous system regulation and epigenetic changes.
Dr. Aimie explains her holistic approach to healing trauma, addressing the mind, body, and biology, and offers practical insights into resetting the nervous system for true recovery. The conversation also covers her online programs for individuals and practitioners, and her new book, "The Biology of Trauma," which is now available for order.
Whether you’re seeking to understand your own healing journey or support others, this episode is filled with hope, actionable advice, and a message that healing is possible for everyone.
