Weshtern Philosophy

In this episode Bart and Anthony are joined by teacher, breathworker and seeker Brighid Bennett to talk about the multi-faceted definitions of 'Authenticity'. We discuss Brighid's own journey, from America to Ireland via Mexico and Nepal, the teachings and experiences she's encountered along the way and how we hold on to our true selves and our integrity in the presence of external pressures and internal evolution.

Intro / Outro music composed, recorded and performed by Bart and Anthony. If we are using a version with a particularly bitching guitar solo on it, that is being played by John Tracey and that version was also recorded and mixed by him.

We're back! In this, the first episode of Season 3 Bart and Anthony speak about 'SPRING' or 'SEEDING', depending on your tolerance for both philosophy and innuendo. We have a bit of a life and career catchup, talk about where we're at, what's coming up for the pod and a lot about growth and how we send our intentions into the future. We hope you enjoy.

In this episode Bart and Anthony speak / don't speak about 'SILENCE'. It's an experimental one, beginning with about 20 minutes of not-quite-silence; the sounds of Bart arriving, Blarney playing, coffee being made, and people occupying a space together. In these cold, dark, January days we invite our listeners to quietly share the space with us that we have so enjoyed occupying for the past year.

And if that's not your thing, no worries! Skip to about 20 minutes into the episode and you'll hear myself and Bart give our thoughts on the exercise, the season, and on silence in general.

Thank you to everyone for your support. We'll be back in the Spring with more topics, guests, music and craic. Slán.

In this episode Bart and Anthony speak about 'GIFTS', the ones we give, the ones we receive, the ones that are innate and the ones that are honed through experience. We also have a proper, meandering catchup and shitetalk after a month of brilliant guests, just to bring the level back down a bit.

Having just completed Niall's three month course in the subject Bart had plenty to say about his own personal experience and the benefits he's found in engaging with this. The conversation explores the many aspects of masculinity and how work like this can affect things outside ourselves; not just our relationships and our self-worth but also place and community. Niall also speaks on the role of the Feminine and women in guiding and supporting Men's Work. If you're interested in masculinity, self-worth, relationships or abundance this episode is sure to have something for you.

In this episode Bart and Anthony are joined by politician, teacher, mayor and all-around Clare man Flan Garvey to talk about 'Peace', specifically Flan's experience reaching out across the border to a Northern Irish Community during the height of the Troubles and the knock-on effects of this action that persist to this day. An inspiring, moving and extremely timely conversation, well-worth a listen for anyone who is considering how to connect with someone on the other side of a contentious issue.

In this episode Bart and Anthony speak about the topic of 'Environment'. Or 'Systems'. Or 'Myth', 'Politics' or 'Musicals'. What actually happened is that we just started talking and assumed we'd find a topic and instead ended up on a very enjoyable and meandering journey, with an always-wonderful guest appearance from Katrien Cogan.
