The voices of five glorious Iwi singers are featured on the April 19 and 26 programmes (10 am to 10.30 am, every Tuesday morning). Their names are: Maisey Rika, Moana Maniapoto, Whirimako Black, Ariana Takao and Hinewehi Mohi. There’s biting social commentary on ‘Repeat Offender’ from Rika, the bicultural history of Aotearoa from Maniapoto (a duet with Don McGlashan), support for Te Reo from Black, a song to a newborn child from Tikao, and two tracks from Mohi (‘Hinerakatauri’ and ‘Ruaumoko’). All tracks released 1999 to 2015.
