Children's Moment August 16, 2015

If we are going to spread the gospel of peace, we must be prepared for conflict. This is the paradox we live in as followers of Jesus. The weapons of the spirit are not designed to take life but to give life. To put on the armor of God is to take on the image of Christ, the Prince of Peace.

Superman was an iconic hero. Was DAvid? Although David defeated Goliath against unimaginable odds, David did not change from a Clark Kent into a Superman to accomplish that task -- he was simply who he always had been.

When Jesus' disciples want to send the crowd away to find food as best they can, Jesus insists that the disciples feed them. The disciples believe there will not be enough, but Jesus believes that there will be plenty for everybody.

John the Baptist was beheaded. Some time later, Herod was afraid that Jesus might actually be John returned from the dead. Jesus, himself, proved to be a prophet, philosopher, and fool.
