At the last supper with his disciples, as Jesus breaks the bread and passes the cup he tells them to continue that practice "in remembrance of me." Earlier when a woman anoints jesus he says that wherever the good news is proclaimed this story will be told "in remembrance of her."

Love of God and loving your neighbor as yourself is what the whole life of faith boils down to according to Jesus. Apparently he summed it up so well that none of his questioners had any other questions. Why don't we, as Jesus followers, give it a try?

Jesus theory of atonement (if you can call it that) seems to say that God intended for people to listen to Jesus, not kill him. That differs greatly from the way many Christians today interpret Gods purpose in sending Jesus.

Jesus is having a bad day. First, he curses a fruitless fig tree then drives all the animals out of the Temple. Then he turns the tables over the people who are selling the animals. Havent we all had days like that?

Peter rebukes Jesus, then Jesus rebukes Peter (even calling him Satan). Do we still resist a Messiah who suffers and wish he hadnt said that thing about taking up our cross.

The Spirit of God drives Jesus into the wilderness to live among the wild beasts and be waited on by angels. Mark doesnt specify the temptations Satan offers Jesus. Does he just assume they are the same as ours?
