A breakdown in faith leads to devastating consequences, as Sarai and Abram attempt to secure God’s blessing by their own means. God shows up with unbelievable grace.

God reveals His covenant to Abraham in greater detail, sealing unconditional promises and assuring of righteousness by faith.

Everyone is chasing a vision of “the good life”, an idea of what true human flourishing looks like. This is the biblical idea of “shalom” often translated as “peace” but meaning completeness or wholeness. Our text today focuses on Melchizedek, the king of righteousness and peace who points us forward to a true and better king and priest in Jesus. Where do you find your righteousness and peace?

As Christians, we sometimes struggle with seeking blessings outside of Jesus. As we see God pouring out blessings on Abram, even in the midst of Abram and Lot's seemingly hopeless situation, we find that God has given all good blessings in and through Jesus.

As the story of Abram continues, we see him step into the promise and blessing of God. He begins to act in faith and obedience to God’s call on his life, yet early on in his walk with God a challenge confronts his faith and we begin to see him wrestle with fear. This sermon explores the wrestle between fear and faith and explains how we learn that God is faithful to his promise despite human weakness.

The curse of the Fall in Genesis 3 ruined man's access to true blessing: his relationship with God. And only God can create blessing in the midst of curse. God began something new by blessing Abram and seeks to do the same in our hearts and lives today.

In today's message, we see that in a world marked by the presence of sin, God has determined to be gracious. This grace expresses itself through covenant, law and promises, that we might trust in Him in all things!

God will not let sin and evil run the world unchecked. We saw in our first message on the flood narrative that goal of God’s judgment is to preserve and protect God’s good creation and his people, which he loves, from sin which is eagerly trying to destroy it. In this second message we hear about how God not only works to save from sin but to save his people to new life. This message will talk about the details of the flood narrative and show us how God is sovereign, faithful and makes new beginnings for his people through the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Many of us wonder if the world we are in could get any worse. We are bombarded by the realness of sin and evil everyday. Genesis 6:1-22 shows us that God sees, He knows and He acts in a way to protect and preserve what he loves. This message explores the rampant growth of sin’s destruction in Genesis 6, how God responds and how salvation comes through the faithfulness of one man.
