Today is our annual Founder’s Day; a day set aside on the church calendar to remember and honor those who came before and laid such a solid foundation. We hope you enjoy this day of remembering and celebration. As we look at our history we also turn the page and continue to look at our glorious future.

Today we talk about one of the keys to revival within the church. It is the key which unlocks the door to all of God’s blessings which He is just waiting to bestow upon us. It is a matter of trust. Do we trust God? Will we take Him at His word? Did you know that Jesus spoke more about this topic than any other? This morning we look at that topic and lay out a simple plan you already know; God’s economic program.

As we have seen over the past month, having a life changing relationship with Jesus can be life transforming. The transformation Jesus brings in our lives is incredibly wide sweeping. Today and next week we look at one more area of transformation … our stewardship of what God has richly blessed us with.

Many misunderstand the Church and see it as unnecessary or of little value. Perhaps they talk to a disillusioned member, or hear of the escapades of a self proclaimed preacher, or they attend a service or see one on TV that is totally out of step with what the Church should be. Maybe we preachers have miscommunicated the Church’s importance in the lives of people. Granted the church is not perfect because it is made up of imperfect human beings, yet it is God’s chosen instrument to impact the world with the saving message of Jesus Christ. My prayer this morning is that by working together and heeding the admonitions of Ephesians 4:1-3 we can move our Church closer to His ideal.

Sometimes life seems to be the pits. For David he knew exactly what that pit looked like. He had experienced the pits of life not just once but multiple times. But in the end he came out praising God because of what God had done in his life. Today we learn from David how to climb out of the pits life often throws us in.

God’s calls are not always easily seen or followed. Sometimes the promises of God seem delayed, yet we must continue to follow God each day knowing His timing is always right. This morning we look at God’s call to Abraham. To a man of lesser faith, God’s call of Abraham might seem staggering and the sacrifices required might seem demanding. Yet God’s promises always outweigh His demands of personal sacrifice. By looking at how Abraham responded to God’s call, today we hope to learn from those experiences just how my relationship to God should affect me.
