“It is your story, it is my story, but most of it is the greatest story ever told, it is God’s Story.” Over the last thirty-one plus weeks we have journeyed through the pages of the Bible using The Story as our guide. We have witnessed the work of the creator and the destruction of man. We have seen God relentlessly pursue a restored relationship with us. Restoration came in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Because of His love and salvation we can have confidence in eternal life with God through Jesus. In Jesus we are more than conqueror, we are victors; simply put we win!

One of the recently popular TV shows was titled, “Extreme Makeover Home addition.” It tells human interest stories of struggling and helpless families who need a home. The community comes together under the direction of the show’s producers to rebuild homes for those needy families. For most of us these heartwarming stories bring a tear to our eyes. The entire show builds to the point where someone shouts, “Move that bus!” At that moment we see the overwhelming joy on the faces of people as they see and enter their new home custom made just for them. This is a picture of the book of Revelation as we finish our journey through The Story. “Move that veil” and let us see our new home custom made for us by our Savior.

The Apostle Paul lived a difficult but rewarding life. Paul loved Jesus and he loved God’s church. At the end of his life Paul had no regrets. To his dear friend and pupil he wrote, “I have fought the good fight, I Have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness.” (2 Timothy 4:7-8 NIV) Paul confidently spoke these words because he had fully poured himself out for the cause of Christ. When your days are complete and you reflect back on your faith will you be able to feel the same way?

The early church as recorded in the book of Acts was a dynamic, growing church that turned the world upside down. In spite of incredible opposition and terrible persecution, first from the Jewish authorities and then from the Roman Empire, the church grew rapidly. How was this possible? What was there about the early church that gave it strength, enthusiasm, and unity to face and overcome these incredible odds? I think the secret is found in a few short verses in the second chapter of Acts.

Since that day God has been on a relentless pursuit of mankind to restore the torn relationship. Jesus has done what he came to do, to pay the price for our sins by dying on the cross. Even in death, Jesus mission was not complete; He must now overcome the grave. Today we will examine the evidence for the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ!
