For some time now, a unique collaboration between the non-profit National Parks Arts Foundation and the National Park Service has been embedding artists in scenic public lands across the U.S.

The Scotland-born Shields is widely followed in Mexico and abroad as one of the most credible sources of information on Mexico's energy sector. For the first time since Mexico nationalized its oil and gas market in 1938, an act that resulted in the expulsion of foreign energy companies, Mexico's domestic energy market is opening up for both competition and foreign investment. The reform was introduced in 2013 to rescue an under-performing energy sector, one that has battled inefficiency, corruption and most recently a low price environment.

Former Texas State Representative Sissy Farenthold is a longtime progressive political icon.

Her career in politics began in her hometown of Corpus Christi, TX, where she worked to fulfill the legal needs of Latinos across South Texas. She was the only woman member of the Texas House in the late 1960's, at a time when Democrats controlled the state government, and went on to run for governor twice in 1972 and 1974. Both gubernatorial bids were unsuccessful.

At least once a year, the theatre department at Sul Ross State University puts on a performance geared toward a younger audience. It's called the Sul Ross Children's Theatre Project, and this year they're performing Maricela de la Luz Lights the World by José Rivera.

We're joined today by three of the people behind the production: Sedia Woods, Darius Dentley, and Greg Schwab.

The 50th annual Terlingua International Chili Cookoff kicked off yesterday. A new book out last month takes us there. It's called The Terlingua Chili Cookbook, and it's full of origin stories, bragging rights, chili-cooking pro-tips, and plenty of recipes.
