We all land somewhere and I think where we land is based on what we do with what we hear. How we position ourselves to hear Him, then, is going to make all the difference this Christmas.

Jesus, close to the end of his earthly life, prophesies another beginning. Jesus, the Messiah, tells the people to watch out for the Messiah. Jesus goes meta. An excellent introduction to the Advent theme of past and future colliding in the present and the difficulty of living in expectation while being not quite sure what to expect.

Part 2 of our series, In Christ. We live here, but we are citizens of Heaven. That reality impacts our “here”. As we are filled with the knowledge of God’s will, you will discover a deepening faith giving you the strength to endure, a growing love giving you the ability to bear fruit in every good work, an eternal hope which changes your perspective and enables you to joyfully give thanks here and now – experiencing the grace and peace of God.

It’s so easy to slip into a life where our devotion is divided and not even realize it.  We serve THE king of the eternal kingdom, but we also let a bunch of little kings in a lot of little kingdoms siphon off our attention and energy and then wonder why we don’t experience the peace that Jesus promises.

Humility is like a secret relationship potion. Jesus didn’t have to be humble; He chose it because it works. Humility dictates the way I see myself compared to those who don’t believe like me, look like me, have what I have, or know what I know.
