Joe Benigno unloads on Aaron Glenn after another “same old Jets” loss, hammering his fourth-down decisions, overtime strategy, and late-game management. Evan Roberts and Tiki Barber dig into the coaching mistakes, Frank Reich’s brutal play calling, costly penalties, special teams breakdowns, and a Jets offense that disappeared when the game was there to be won.
Despite the frustration, Joe isn’t ready to bury the season. He believes the defense has taken a major step forward, Geno Smith gives the Jets competent quarterback play, and the roster is dramatically better than last year. The conversation also turns to Jaxson Dart’s injury, the Giants’ opportunity in the NFC East, and why Joe desperately wants Glenn to prove he can become the Jets’ long-term answer.
Jaxson Dart’s knee injury immediately overshadows everything for the Giants. Evan Roberts and Tiki Barber react to the frightening hit, the uncertainty surrounding Dart’s status, and the growing concern about whether their young quarterback can consistently stay on the field. Tiki explains why this injury looked more like terrible luck than something Dart could have prevented.
Jameis Winston’s performance only made the night worse. Evan and Tiki rip the veteran backup for missed throws, poor decisions, and failing to give the Giants a chance after Dart went down. Shaun Morash joins the conversation with a more optimistic view of Dart’s injury, while the Giants are left facing major questions at quarterback.
The Giants got their butt kicked by the Rams last night. Jaxson Dart was injured early and the Giants never recovered. Jameis Winston had a terrible game. Boomer is impressed by the Rams.
Craig Carton and Chris McMonigle open the Carton Show by breaking down the New York Jets’ crushing overtime loss to the Green Bay Packers — and Craig is putting the blame squarely on the coaching staff.
Aaron Glenn’s late-game clock management becomes the biggest target after the Jets blow a 10-point fourth-quarter lead in a crushing overtime loss to Green Bay. Evan Roberts is furious that Glenn let nearly a minute disappear instead of calling timeout and giving the offense another chance to win, while Tiki Barber points to the difficulty of balancing defensive play-calling with head-coaching responsibilities.
The frustration runs much deeper. Geno Smith and the offense regressed, the offensive line struggled, penalties piled up, and the Jets repeatedly failed in critical moments. Even Packers coach Matt LaFleur admitted he was confused by New York’s handling of the final minute, adding another layer to a loss that felt painfully familiar.
We started with the Jets overtime loss to the Packers, the overwhelming amount of penalties, some of the poor play calls and the way Aaron Glenn handled overtime.
