Postponed from last week: WGTD News Director Dave McGrath talks about his first novel, "24 Hours from Tulsa," which tells the fictitious backstory behind one of Gene Pitney's greatest hits. The book is a fascinating behind-the-scenes look at pop music in the 1960s. Although the book is a work of fiction, it springs in large measure from Dave McGrath's working relationship with Gene Pitney over the course of many years. Pitney figures prominently in the novel.

We talk about the great work of Racine Vocational Ministry with Executive Director James Schatzman and Re-Entry Program Director Heather Bennett. The agency is celebrating its 20th anniversary and just placed its 5,000th worker. They work to help people who have been incarcerated to re-enter society and achieve success.

Dr. Ar Cyr, a member of the faculty at Carthage College, pays his monthly visit to the program to talk about a variety of issues, including recent elections in Great Britain, the most recent meeting of the G7, and what the looming crisis of the Debt Ceiling is all about.
