We talk with 11-year-old Bellen Woodard about her project and children's book that are both called "More than Peach," which sprang from an encounter with a schoolmate who asked her to hand him a 'skin-colored crayon'-  which made Bellen realize that she needed to say something about the wide range of beautiful skin colors that exist in the human family.  

We talk with Betsy Ade ("The Voice") - of Betsy Ade and the Well-Known Strangers - about their upcoming performance this Saturday night with the Kenosha Symphony in a free open-air concert by the Petrifying Springs Biergarten

We speak with three young adults - Miriam Zouhri, Jared McLean and Zion Parrish - who have been working on an AmeriCorps team in Kenosha since mid July.  We discuss what AmeriCorps is all about and what the experience has been like for them.

From 2010 - Ellen Rogers, author of "Kasey to the Rescue: The Remarkable Story of a Monkey and a Miracle."  After Ellen's son Ned was left paralyzed by a tragic car accident,  the family was able to adopt a pet monkey that made an enormous difference for the better in Ned's life.  

John Moyles talks about the work he does rescuing and relocating exotic animals (mostly aquatic animals.) 

From the University of Wisconsin-Parkside:  Dr. Peggy James, Dean of the College of Social Sciences and the School for Professional Studies- and Dr. Edward Schmitt, Associate Professor of History.  They are both involved in UW-Parkside's Alternative Historical Narrative Summer Program, a 17-day experience for high school students and high school history teachers; it is designed to broaden the participants' understanding of our nation's own history and the players in it.
