From 2013-  Simon Garfield, author of "To the Letter: a Celebration of the Lost Art of Letter Writing." 

- Rocco Constantino's book "Beyond Baseball's Color Barrier" tells the story of the past, present and future of African-Americans in major league baseball.  

Dr. Art Cyr, Clausen Distinguished Professor of Political Economy and World Business at Carthage College, offers his analysis of current events- including Russia's invasion of Ukraine.  

Neal Thompson, author of "The First Kennedys: The Humble Roots of an American Dynasty."  Thompson chronicles the story of the very first Kennedys - Patrick and Bridget - to make their way from Ireland to the United States in the late 1840s.  

Dr. Mark Vonnegut, author of "The Heart of Caring: My Life in Pediatrics."  Dr. Vonnegut, the son of renowned author Kurt Vonnegut, has been a pediatrician for forty years.  He writes about some of his most memorable experiences and also offers up his concerns about the ways in which the medical field has changed over the last four decades.

Rosario Marin,  former Treasurer of the United States, is speaking at Carthage College this Wednesday,  February 24th. 

From 2008: Vicki Myron, author of "Dewey: the Small Town Library Cat who Touched the World."  It tells the true story of how Ms. Myron, the head of the public library in Spencer, Iowa found a tiny kitten abandoned in the library's drop box on a bitterly cold winter night - adopted it and made it the library cat, where it charmed library patrons until Dewey's death in 2006. 

From 2017-  Daniel Bolger, author of "Our Year at War: Two Brothers, Viet Nam, and a Nation Divided."   

Music/Comedy Duo Bridge & Wolak (Michael Bridge and Kornel Wolak) are performing at Carthage College next Thursday evening, February 24th.  Bridge is a virtuoso on the accordion (and also plays the digital accordion, which is one of the most versatile of all musical instruments.)  Wolak is both a brilliant clarinetist and pianist.  

For Nan Calvert's monthly visit to the program, she welcomes Kathleen Thompson,  a doctoral Botany student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison who has extensively studied Lichens and other related organisms.
