It's been running for a thousand years?! ❻ (From Hoops at United Press International) A couple got married in a social-media-famous bathroom... ❺ Shoutout to the marketing team who got a casino in the news this week with a fun Oscars contest/ publicity stunt/ job offer... Test Casinos made news this week because they're offering two thousand dollars if you are picked for the job of watching all 10 best picture nominees for this year's Academy Awards... ❹ Another world record... this one is super fast. A fellow has set the land speed record for riding on a toy car... ❸ There's a new latte flavor at Starbucks. This is available in China and it is pork... pork flavored latte. ❷ The Tooth Fairy is in the news for paying less for teeth... 🍅 An article from HuffPost talking about this study looking into whether marijuana makes running easier. Two high school kids in Colorado have received scholarships to play Division One Cornhole for Winthrop University ❾ The Plague/ Cat story was picked up by a lot of news orgs... It's a little scary at first. And also weird... a person in Oregon who is infected with bubonic plague ❽ the story about the very old wombat. It's cool and weird... weird and cool. I mean wombats, right you guys? The Guinness World Records folks have acknowledged this 34 year old wombat at a zoo in Japan, who is the oldest wombat in the world!! ❼ This past week we had Shrove Tuesday/ Pancake Tuesday and folks in a place named Liberal, Kansas really lean into Pancake Day... ❻ This one was all over the place on the late-night shows and every news network picked up the story of the stingray that is somehow pregnant. The stingray is in a tank with only sharks. ❺ So there's a piece of music that, from beginning to end, will take 639 years to complete. The song or piece of music is set to be over in the year 2640. ❹ A wonderful tale of redemption this week... a followup to story that we talked about last week. re the fellow who made the Eiffel Tower out of matchsticks... ❸ Another follow-up... in an episode a lil while ago we mentioned about Sir Winston Churchill's false teeth... that they were going on auction... ❷ A new study is in the news about emojis and how men cannot understand emojis as well as women... the researchers have a theory on this... 🍅 Sort of a bittersweet Honorable Mention... this week we lost someone who brought joy to so many... ❶ Meat rice is in the news. I saw this headline a few different places. But we put the link to Hoops' story in today's show notes... The man from France who made a world record tall Eiffel Tower out of matchsticks. ❷ Another Valentine's story as we get closer to the day of love and the day of feeling scorned. There's a company in the news who will Name a junk car after your ex and then squish it. 🍅 We have an honorable mention... This publicity stunt gets full marks for trying to promote recycling and also for the most amazing website... https://flushyourex.whogivesacrap.org ... ❶ It's not a funny story. It's just weird you guys and I don't know what it means. Researchers hope that someday it'll cure cancer. I'm paraphrasing a bit there. This has to do with the radioactive wolves in Chernobyl.

This is a park where you're allowed to go and look for diamonds. ❹ This one made national news here where I'm at in Canada. The McRib is back.

I'm not sure if you have the McRib where you are, but the McDonald's McRib, a delicious pressed pork sandwich, was gone for ten years in Canada ❸ Woolly rhinos are in the news. First of all, I had no idea they existed. Well, they're extinct now but... ❷ There's a story in the news about a mysterious noise in Florida and fish. I'm sorry PG-13... I should have said PG-13 first. There's a story in the news about this weird noise in Florida that people are taking note of and it may be fish... making fish babies. 🍅 We have an honorable mention about a lady in California and a world record. ❶ Gizmodo headline "Japan zoo recaptures escaped man in costume in adorable emergency drill."
