What Are We Even Doing Here?

On this episode I briefly go over the Apostles' Creed.  I talk about why it is important to believe what the historic creeds teach.  These creeds are not authoritative but are tools that can help us to know what the Bible teaches.

(Editors note about the episode: I say Heidelberg Confession and what I mean is Heidelberg Catechism. Sorry for the mistake.  Please don't take my Reformed card away.)

On this episode I list a few things to be thankful for.  As Christians, the list never ends.  The LORD's steadfast love endures forever! Also, I talk a little about how I often wondered to whom atheists are thankful.  Seems like they know there is Someone beyond us to show gratitude toward.  Yet, they still reject God.  Their feet are planted firmly in midair.

On this episode I make a confession.  Needed to let everyone know this, if they didn't already.  Then I talk about a facebook discussion that happened when I posted Exodus 20:8. What is the Christian Sabbath? What day are Christians to meet and worship? Does it matter? Is the day we meet the Sabbath? What does the Bible say? Do we see New Testament Christians meeting on the first day of the week?

What is most important: GO TO CHURCH!

I don't fully answer any of these.  I just give you my thought that are influenced by the Word of God.

Thank you all for continuing to listen.  On this episode I discuss how the through the reformation, and through the 5 Solas that came about, we can have assurance of our salvation now according to the Scripture.  I briefly unpack Ephesians 2 and some other texts.  May this episode bless you so that you may rest and sleep well knowing you are save by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, to the glory of God alone, according to the Scriptures alone.

It has been a while since we posted a show.  Well, i posted a few sermons but haven't had an actual show.  We have been really busy with life.  On this episode I am going solo and this may be the format for a while.  We will see what God has for the future.  For now please enjoy and be blessed by this short episode.

I know many people who claim to be Christians yet they do not gather on the Lord's day. On this episode I give a few reasons why this is not good.  Feel free to share this and check out other podcasts in the Christian Podcast Community.

On October 24, 2021 I had the honor and privilege to preach at Faith Bible OPC in Brick, NJ.  The text I preached from was Luke 15.  This is the parable of the lost sheep, the lost coin, and the lost prodigal son.  I wanted to focus on the relentless pursuit of God in Christ for His lost children.  Christ came to seek and save those who are lost.  He seeks and saves those who are His.  He find them and never will let them go.

Note, when I recorded this I forgot to record the reading of the Scripture.  I recorded that again at home because you should hear the entire passage in context.

May this sermon bless you and leave you assured of salvation in Christ.  If you are not a believer, may this sermon bring you to repentance and faith by the power of the Holy Spirit.

It has been a while since we posted an episode. We hope to get back to regular shows soon.  In the meantime, here is a sermon I preached July 4, 2021 at Faith Bible OPC in Brick, NJ. I had the opportunity to do pulpit supply and I preached a sermon on Ezekiel 37:1-14. I hope you are encouraged and edified.

God brings the dead to life by the Holy Spirit, and the Word of His power.

On this episode Daryl, Karen, and Roo talk about a very popular lawn sign.  It has been seen at many houses and we talk about the world view it comes from and what the Bible has to say.

On this episode of WAWEDH, we discuss something we are by no means experts in, voting and politics.  As Christians we believe we should view everything according to what God has said.  We talk about what we believe God says about this difficult subject and we have a lot of fun doing so. Our daughter Too joins us once again as well.
