In today's episode, we're talking about the habits that can lead to acute conditions such as appendicitis.
Some of us got a lot of life margin from our parents and can put all manner of destructive information into our body and still seemingly do okay. Others have very little margin and find ourselves on the cusp of infections, chronic disease, emergency room visits with the slightest insult.
I often think and even ask patients, what are you waiting for?
If you're not experiencing an acute disease condition, you still have the opportunity to make simple lifestyle adjustments. Lifestyle adjustments in the form of eating habits, work schedule, sleep, mindset, emotional health. It's easy to think that conditions such as gastritis pancreatitis, appendicitis, a gallbladder attack, or atrial fibrillation are a result of something we did in the past week or month but the reality is that they are a compilation of a lifetime of choices.
The bottom line is your daily habits have to be addressed and potentially adjusted if you don't want the disease and dysfunction that comes with the standard American way of living.
