When a mom is struggling with anxiety, overthinking and emotional overwhelm, it ripples out into the family dynamic. But so does ease and joy when that mom starts to experience more nervous system regulation!
Today’s guest on What Chiropractic Doesn’t Cure: Stories of Innate podcast, is Dr. Katie Gay who practices Life Starts Here Chiropractic in Kittery Maine.
She specializes in caring for moms and babies and shared a great story of a mother in her 30s who originally came in for more range of motion related to her active life. However, at her re-exam there was a whole list of areas where she had seen improvement, from her sleep to her digestive health. But most importantly, she was feeling less anxious.
Dr. Katie and I discuss nervous system regulation and its connection to mental health, as well as what different about chiropractic, that sets it apart from other natural healthcare fields.
We also get into what triggers people to start chiropractic and what she tells them when they’re nervous.
I love that she has monthly events for moms, so I asked about her Mommy Mixers and Bellies to Babies. These events are such a phenomenal way to encourage connection (she doesn’t even talk about chiropractic during them, but her patients will!) and a great way to show the culture of caring that she curates.
