Hey everyone, instead of a normal description this time, I think it's best to let you know what is going on with the podcast. Yes, I know we have an audience of like 4, but still this has been a passion project between my daughter and I for the past nearly 2 years.
As for the episode, this one I talk about Ashley Reeves and how she was strangled and left in the woods. Her attacker leads police to her body only.... it's not a body... I mean this IS what DIDN'T kill me after all...
A small town brought together by a parents worst nightmare, a bus full of kids disappears.
You're probably wondering if we managed to survive our own podcast, you may also be wondering "What's up with that title?". Well, the answer to those are, yes we did (though barely) and we couldn't come up with one better...
Been a LONG time since our last update. Some of that is good news, some not so much. During this episode we discuss my husband's brother Daniel and his wife Gabrielle, who lost a child a year ago. Despite the sorrow of such a topic, we were excited to announce our daughter Kiera was expecting. Unfortunately, Kiera also lost her child from a miscarriage in the 7th week, not too long after we recorded this. Needless to say; we all but forgot about the podcast.
Editor's Note: We also want to make a correction, we talked about my brother losing his baby girl at 29 weeks, when it was actually 24.
If you think you've had a bad date, well the story of Danielle MacGuire and Daniel Zapp will put your worst date in startling perspective! Going for a walk in the park turned into a nightmare when both were kidnapped. They were driven to a river, where Danielle was sexually assaulted, then they were both forced to the river and shot.
In this episode we discuss the world's only molasses flood, and we're not talking about just a warehouse here! We take you back to 1919 and an oh so safe molasses "receptacle" and how nothing can possibly go wrong storing 2 million gallons of molasses! Follow along some of these sticky situations and those that survived a 40 foot wave of syrupy doom! Including one brave 12 year old boy Anthony di Stasio, who manages to cling to safety for as long as his little arms would hold out.
Welcome to our second season! Despite our tiny audience we had so much fun, we're doing another one. If you enjoy our humble little show and think someone you know would as well, please pass it on. Word of mouth is really the best way to grow our little audience. I'd also like to thank those of you who've been listening from the start we really appreciate it!
This episode is the scary story of Aloha Airlines flight 243, and how they managed to land with only three quarters of the plane remaining! We talk about the brave heroes Michelle Honda, who kept passengers calm even at the risk to her own wellbeing and First Officer Mimi Tompkins who helped bring the plane to safety.
Editor's Note: OMG! this is the 1st time I didn't have to spend 5x our run time making sure the audio was actually understandable! From here on out things should sound a lot better. Now... If only I could teach them microphone etiquette...
THIS WAS THE WORST EPISODE EVER!!! Sorry folks this description has been hijacked by the editor. I promise you'll survive my rant here about how it took me 6 hours to edit 30 minutes of sound much better than I did! Seriously! The fact this episode exists at all and wasn't tossed in to the big waste basket in the cloud is just further proof I'm too stubborn to quit. So please excuse the quality problem we had a death in the microphone family and the fact I could salvage this at all is a miracle. So.... I got everyone new microphones for Christmas!
In this episode Jade talks about a bunch of kids stuck where the sun don't shine... a cave! Sylvia talks about a boy who saved his family from diving off a cliff! And our special guest, well... you'll just have to listen to find out!
Hello everyone! On today's episode we talk about 9-11... as you'll notice by the publication date of this episode (12-2-21) we are a "little" behind. Due to some time conflicts, family events, a family vacation and other normal mental breakdowns, we are about 3 months behind. But worry not dear listener I'm sure more chaos is yet to come! (I'm looking at you Omicron!)
Join us as we talk about an amazing teenager named Marry Vincent, who survived a nightmare scenario despite all odds. We also discuss an unnamed man who survived being stalked and attacked over several days in "middle of nowhere" Alaska by a polar bear.
Yes, you read the title right, we are back in the water again! This week we discuss a tale that was first brought to our attention by a famous movie. The survivor story was the bases for Captain Quint's hatred and fear of sarks in "Jaws". I've been wanting to do this story for a long time as Jade is a HUGE fan of the movie. Then when she told the story about Tsutomu Yamaguchi, it sparked the recollection of the USS Indianapolis, so I of course had to tell that story!
We also discuss why we had to take a break from recording as Jade delt with Bell's palsy and was unable to speak properly. I guess in a way Jade survived not being able to talk for a few weeks, which if you knew her might be considered a true tragedy!
