This is Arnie and Fred's third discussion of Divine or God's Authority. Our first discussion considered what we termed  a "Chain of Divine Authority", beginning with God having all authority. Our second session reviewed the New Testament's inspiration, completeness, certainty, assurance and authority as God's final revelation of His will,replacing the Old Testament; that all men must obey it, and that now only teachings and practices authorized in the New Testament are in fact, authorized. The focus of our discussion today will be how to understand and apply what the New Testament allows and requires, as opposed to what it forbids. Take about 30 minutes to listen in on our discussion. This will be the first of 3 discussions about God's Chain of Authority as revealed in the Bible. It is noted in the New Testament that the people were astonished at what Jesus taught them in what is commonly known as the Sermon on the Mount. They recognized that Jesus taught as one having authority and not as the Scribes. Arnie and Fred will discuss the passages where references to divine authority are found and who it is that possesses such authority and how they obtained such authority. The older we get, the more we are conscious of our mortality. We experience sickness our selves and see it in others. There are accidents, violence, war, and various news reports of the demise of others. So, there are times that we wonder about what happens to us after death. There are philosophers and theologians who try to explain it theoretically, but they can offer only speculation and uninspired human reasoning. Only God's inspired Word in the Bible can be depended upon for the answers we seek about what happens to us after we die. Arnie and Fred discuss what the Bible says about the death of the human body which is commonly known by everyone. We discuss what the Bible says about the spirit of man, where it goes and why. The resurrection as revealed in the Bible is discussed as well as the judgment day when Jesus will render final judgment upon every individual. Take about 30 minutes to listen in on the discussion. Christ's resurrection is unique in the history of mankind and there are many who are skeptical of it and doubt that it ever occurred. There are even those who claim to be Christians who fabricate theories about what they think really happened. The Bible is very clear: faith is so essential that without it one cannot be saved. The Bible records evidence supplied by eyewitnesses who saw Jesus crucified and saw the empty tomb after His resurrection. These same witnesses saw Jesus after His resurrection, talked with Him, ate with Him and ultimately witnessed His ascension into heaven during the 40 days after His resurrection. There were some who were at first skeptical of what other witnesses told them. Nevertheless, upon seeing Him themselves and touching the wounds from His crucifixion, believed also. In this 30 minute episode, Arnie and Fred discuss the occasions that some 523 witnesses associated with Jesus for 40 days after His resurrection. Take some time to listen in.
