In this episode, I had the pleasure of talking to Fly Chy @fly.chy from Y'all Aren't Mad Enough podcast and we had a good ole' black girl time! We talk how life has been life-ing, and the anti blackness in life AND in these reality shows. Which leads us to Potomac. We talk our thoughts on the ladies (who cares about a Queen of Potomac) and thoughts on the season. We also talk about the divine 9 (black sororities and fraternities) and non black people pledging them and Chy tells the story of how the hate for black hair is shown to little black girls very early in life...and the love of (light) skin. This conversation is real and raw...Chy is my girl and talking to her always feels like home.

We talk about Cha-Cha Queen of Potomac vs. Karen the Grande Dame who holds the Champagne flute and we really get into the Candiace vs Ashley of it all. We talk the true genesis of the breakdown of their relationship and how Candiace in fact is still the same, folks just didn’t see it before. And we also talk the breakdown of Candiace and Monique. In this episode, I got to talk to my good sis @thebrookeashley_ and this was a much needed conversation for me! We started out talking about her trajectory in the YouTube world which set us out on a motivational path (c'mon Ted Talks!) Then I briefly talk about my fist fight with Covid (BAY-BEE), which leads us into Potomac. We talk about what The Real Housewives of Potomac was actually supposed to be (Moms of Jack and Jill) and Brooke breaks down Jack and Jill as she grew up in it. Then we dabble in the season that seems to have a chokehold on us STILL and we get into what some want to avoid...colorism and the bias of some white viewers with Potomac.  When I tell you talking to my girl Brooke was like chicken soup for the soul.

In this episode, I got to talk to Elle Murasaki from Housewives and Chitchat @housewivesandchitchat and I could have talked to her for hours and hours and hours (which we did before we even started recording.) And we got into all the things! We talked about Ye and the need for all communities, especially ours to come together and speak out against his behavior (and this was before we knew of his recent continued hateful rhetoric,) being black content creators, growing up and going to school in all white spaces, which then leads to a conversation about the housewives we watch and why some things for some of us aren’t always entertainment and can truly be triggering… Especially Potomac.

And speaking of Potomac, we talk about the housewife she went to high school with that inspired her to join the technology club to make sure there was always black representation (spoiler…it’s our CandeeGal) and who she has known Candiace to be  based off of her personal experiences with her.

In this episode, I got to talk to the newly betrothed, Miss Imani, Marcus Mann from @mixingwithmani podcast. It’s been not quite a month, and Mani has finally had time to slow down, catch her breath and reflect on her wedding experience as a whole. We talk bridal party etiquette, wedding guest etiquette, and just how much has changed for Mani and Mya in the last 12 months. Wedding planning will have you feeling like you have been sucked through the tv into a real housewives episode that is playing on loop.

Then we couldn’t let this episode go by without talking about what else… The Real Housewives of Potomac. On this episode I had the privilege of talking to Chy Omai @Chy (Orji) Omai host of the podcast Y'all Aren't Mad Enough! And when I tell you our discussion was EVERYTHING to me!!!! We start out getting to know Chy, a former resident of DC who now resides in Texas (praying for you sis) and happens to share close friends with two of our Potomac housewives. And Chy shares the story of her parents coming to this country and the closing agent who couldn't mind her business and called immigration. 

Then we get into the business of Potomac. We talk Wendy (Chy and Wendy are both Nigerian) and how she can identify with Wendy (get over Wendy getting her body done and STILL being black excellence, SO WHAT..,)  Gizelle and her new age paper bag tests (yeah, we went there,) how colorism and its topic is weaponized by certain cast members among white viewers who don't realize it, the constant conversations about Chris and so much more!
