Briana (she/her) is blessed to be a Philadelphia based Filmmaker, Theatre Maker, Painter, And Teaching Artist, Briana’s mission in life is to create opportunities for love and education to thrive through art.
This week I am so excited to finally share this episode with you guys! So many delicious gems from my dear friend Briana. She is doing incredible work and cannot be stopped or held back by external expectations. We get into some deep topics such as the insecurity when she no longer had to prove herself because the people around her didn’t question her vision or her ability to execute said vision. Briana breaks down how she is so clear on her vision and what specific actions help her from wavering.
In this episode we discuss:
Question of the Week: How will I balance the work I need to do with the work I need to do for myself?

In honor of Indigenous People’s Day on Monday, I am reuploading my conversation with Dioganhdih, who is an indigenous non-binary lyricist, rapper, and activist!
When I first encountered Dio, I was subsumed by their energy and saw bits of my experience reflected in their music. During a conversation, Dio opened my eyes to some hard truths and beautiful sentiments. When I asked why they create music and why they are building a platform, Dio said simply "I'm trying to fight the erasure of my people and my culture". That is an enormous weight to carry. Dio does it with such grace and unfettered passion. AND they're always stunting on us? I'm so grateful to have ever shared space with this incredible two spirit Haudenosaunee lyricist and activist.
In this episode we discuss,

How he affirms his kids - the inner reality creates the outer reality
Why you need to do things that you love without regard for its consumability for others

Priscilla Agyeman MPH, like all of us, saw the rise of the instagram Baddie, but she wanted to challenge the notion that Baddies are effortless and carefree. Especially because Black women are so constantly showing up for others and doing invisible labor without acknowledging its wear and tear on their emotional health, Priscilla created Saddie Baddies. Saddie Baddies is a platform that facilitates conversations about mental and emotional health for Black women. Priscilla provides information from her thorough research of credible sources to help saddie baddies make sure that inner health is as stunning as the outer appearance. On this episode:
Question of the Week: Can you tell the difference between your intuition and your trauma? If yes, why? If not, how can you distinguish moving forward?

Tyger B has to be one of the most generous people I’ve ever encountered. He has so much to give and he would rather give to the detriment of himself than not give at all. Tyger gives lots of incredible insight on integrity, communication, and time management as a multi-hyphenate.

Quentin has accomplished incredible feats, but we dug more into his vision for the future rather than his work in the past.
What I appreciate most about this conversation is that Quentin is the type of person who, like myself, can move through disparate topics swiftly and seamlessly. We lot have to stick together!
Follow Quentin at @tagjustq across platforms and check out his site: quentinallums.com
In this episode, we discuss:
Quentin’s relationship to entrepreneurship
Getting paid to be yourself
Tackling big, exciting problems
Speaking to be understood by the masses
The aesthetic of power

Lots of tehehes in this episode! Our conversation is all over the map, but the overarching thread is connection through communication. We discuss why unpaid internships shouldn’t exist, the importance of saying exactly what you want in a job, how to make (or stumble into) your creative stamp.
