Hi everyone, I’m Kashavíyah - a medical student, future psychiatrist, and the host of What Helps You?, a mental health podcast about the small but powerful practices that keep us grounded.
In this episode, I open up about heartbreak, resilience, and the day sunflowers reminded me that beauty can bloom even in broken places. Remembering the lesson they taught me outside a Marine Corps chow hall, sunflowers have become my therapy, my joy, and my reminder to keep turning toward the light.
My hope is that by hearing this story, you’ll find something in it to carry with you - whether it’s one sunflower in a glass or a whole counter full when life feels heavy. Because life can stay beautiful even when it isn’t pretty, and you can stay radiant even in rocky soil.
Thank you so much for joining me for the very first episode of What Helps You?. If this resonates, follow me on Instagram at @Shavie4ever21 and if you’d like to be a guest on the show, send me a DM. Together, we can make our collective mental health better.
Love y’all, and until next time, maybe go get yourself some sunflowers. 🌻
