A typical day for a Customer Success Manager (CSM) can involve a lot of different activities, all aimed at helping their customers achieve success with their product or service.
Some of the most common activities include:
1. Interaction with customers, ensuring that their questions are answered and their needs are addressed
2. Understanding the business to know what they have based on the product
3. Identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities with customers.
4. conducting quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with customers to help them assess their progress and identify any areas where they could use more help.
5. Helping customers expand their use of the product or service by identifying new areas where it could be beneficial for them.
Customer Success Managers need to be very organized and proactive in their approach in order to be successful in their role. They also need to have excellent communication skills in order to effectively work with both customers and other members of their team.
