An idol is a person or thing that is greatly admired, loved, or revered. Often, our idols aren't as obvious as worshiping a carved image of a goddess. They are less conspicuous, like compulsive shopping, abusing alcohol, or emotional eating. Or it might be binging on hours of our favorite television show or holding someone in too high regard. As Christians, an idol is looking to anything other than Jesus to meet our every physical, emotional, and spiritual need.
In this message, Pete Briscoe talks openly about letting go and breaking free from our dependence on the idols we keep hidden in our hearts and discovering true contentment that never fades.
