There are people hidden in plain sight everywhere you go. Waiting to be seen. Waiting to be known. Waiting for someone to stop scrolling long enough to notice them.

The question Jesus asked Simon at a dinner party two thousand years ago is the same question He is asking every one of us today: do you see this woman?

Every room you walk into, you leave a scent behind.

Not the perfume you're wearing — your presence. The thing that lingers after you've left. The spiritual fragrance that people associate with your name, your home, your workplace, your family. And Christine Caine wants to ask you directly: what does yours smell like?

In episode five of A Life Unleashed, Christine Caine opens 2 Corinthians 2:14–17 and unpacks one of the most sensory and surprising images Paul ever used for the Christian life: the Roman triumph parade, where priests carried incense through the streets of Rome so that every citizen could smell the victory before they ever saw it. Paul says that is exactly what we are: the aroma of Christ, diffused through us everywhere we go, to everyone we meet.

In this episode, Christine Caine shows that the gospel is not only good news to the ears — it is a good smell to the nose, and God Himself can smell it. She takes us through Scripture to show that smell has always mattered to God, from Noah's offering in Genesis to Mary's perfume filling the house in John 12 to Jesus Himself, the ultimate sweet-smelling sacrifice of Ephesians 5. She makes the case that whatever is in our hearts will inevitably diffuse out of our spiritual pores and that we cannot manufacture the fragrance of Christ through behavior alone. Just as perfume is made by the pressing and crushing of flowers, the sweet fragrance of Christ comes forth in us through the very seasons of brokenness and dying to self that we most want to avoid. And she names the hard truth: not everyone will love the scent. The same fragrance that smells like life to believers may smell like death to the lost, and the temptation to dilute the gospel to make it more palatable to the world will always be there. But if you change the chemical composition, it is no longer the same aroma. You might be in the right place. You're just not sure it's enough of a place.

It doesn't look like much from the outside. Nobody's watching. Nobody's applauding. It's not the position you pictured when you said yes to God. And every time you scroll through someone else's highlight reel, your place feels smaller and smaller. But Christine Caine has a word for anyone who has ever felt overlooked, underplaced, or tempted to leave, and it comes straight from 1 Corinthians 12.

Most people are going to read your life long before they ever read the Bible.

That means you are already a letter. The only question is whether the writing is legible — whether the people in your world can actually make out the message, or whether what they're reading in your life doesn't match what you say you believe.

You got a brand new identity in Christ. But are you still wearing the old clothes?

Most of us know that something changed when we came to faith. What we're less sure about is what that means for how we actually live — what we put on, what we take off, and what we've let quietly stay in the closet because it still fits a little too comfortably. In episode two of our series A Life Unleashed, Christine Caine opens Colossians 3 and does what Paul does: gets practical.

In this episode, Christine Caine uses the extended metaphor of a spiritual wardrobe to unpack one of the most practical passages in the New Testament. Since we have been raised with Christ, Paul says, there are clothes we used to wear that simply should not fit us anymore, and there is a brand new wardrobe hanging in the closet that most of us haven't fully tried on yet. 

Christine is honest about what her old wardrobe looked like before Christ and what it meant to discover that those clothes were slowly destroying her life. She makes the case that getting dressed spiritually doesn't happen by accident any more than getting dressed physically does. It takes intentionality, daily decision, and a clear sense of who you are representing. One word. Spoken once. And it changed everything for all of eternity.

When Jesus bowed his head on the cross and said, "It is finished," he wasn't admitting defeat. He was shouting victory. Nobody told you the process would take this long.

God is not waiting to give you something. He's waiting for you to go get what He's already given.

You can have deep roots, genuine resilience, open hands, and real faith — and still not fully flourish.

Because flourishing requires freedom. And for most of us, the thing standing between us and that freedom is something we've been carrying so long we don't notice the weight anymore.

It's shame.

In week 8 of our summer series, Christine Caine gets personal. This is the episode where she shares the testimony that reaches the part of us we don't usually let anyone see, the part that wonders, quietly and persistently, whether we are actually enough. Whether God could really use someone like us. Whether what happened to us has somehow disqualified us from what He intended for us.

God never said, "Hurry up." He said, "Wait."

And most of us are terrible at it.
