Friends! Man life has been LIFE-ING really hard over here. I've been meaning to record and publish this episode for over a month now. AND we are here now and I'm closing off Season 1 of the What She Gained podcast by letting you in on 1. the biggest thread I've noticed with nearly EVERY SINGLE client I have ever had and 2. What bittersweet things are going on in my life. Season 1 is closing but Season 2 will be back towards the end of 2022! Have you struggled to feel like you have autonomy within your body? Especially when it comes to fitness? In today’s episode, I had the honor of chatting with Kelsey Ellis all about reclaiming body autonomy in fitness. When I came across Kelsey on social media, I was instantly drawn to her fun and authentic approach to health and fitness!
Kelsey Ellis (she/her) is an award-winning, body-positive Health and Fitness Expert based in Vancouver, Canada. She is both a Registered Holistic Nutritionist and Certified Personal Trainer on a mission to empower individuals to take the shame out of their wellness game through letting go of self-judgment, practicing intuitive eating, and honouring joyful movement. Kelsey teaches group coaching programs on intuitive eating, helping clients learn how to trust themselves around food again, let go of destructive dieting behaviour and make peace with food and their bodies once and for all. She also teaches body-positive fitness classes both live through her Patreon platform and via her YouTube channel ‘Healthy With Kelsey’. Her classes center physical movement from a wellness-centered approach and she encourages her audience to move their bodies in a way that feels best for them!

After recovery, she went back to school to become an RD with the dream of supporting folks in their food journeys. Marie-Pier started her private practice and has been supporting folks to heal their relationship with food and their bodies. She strives to provide evidence-based nutrition interventions to all her clients and support them in their recovery journeys. Marie-Pier is passionate about helping folks discover how to ditch diet culture and nourish their bodies without guilt, shame or restrictions. You can spot Marie-Pier on local news and radio stations and give presentations to different organizations on nutrition!
She is the host of The Balanced Dietitian Podcast, where she provides listeners with a different approach to nutrition. Marie-Pier offers counseling at The Balanced Practice and an online group program to help folks heal their relationship with food and body.

Samantha Christy is a Registered Dietitian and Exercise Physiologist in Cleveland, Ohio. Founder of Triple-A Wellness, a company focused on empowering people to live their best life through positive relationships with food and their body. Triple A Wellness is all about providing inclusive, body neutral, and non-diet counseling to Anyone with Any Body, Any Where.
Sam has a Master's Degree from Colorado State University and a BS in Kinesiology from Penn State and has worked in the fitness industry for almost 10 years.
Sam currently works one-on-one with clients to provide lifestyle and behavior changes to help them live their best life through proper nutrition and a healthy relationship with their bodies. Sam specializes in disordered eating and eating disorder recovery in addition to intuitive eating and aligns with Health At Every Size paradigms.
Sam follows an all-foods fit approach that helps people find food freedom. She specializes in working with those that have been chronic dieters and want to break free of the diet mentality.
Sam’s experience in the fitness industry has allowed her to be an expert in many areas, including kettlebells, TRX, ViPR, Schwinn Cycling, and as an Orangetheory Fitness Coach. Sam has a body neutral approach to fitness and focuses on helping clients feel strong and empowered.
