Welcome to EPISODE 18. I am SO excited to share this episode with you because OMG Rhianna Bowe is such a blogging powerhouse.

    SUBSCRIBE TO THE PODCAST

An award-winning lifestyle blogger with one of the most beautiful Instagram feeds around, she manages to smash blogging, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube while holding down a full-time job! She's also crazy generous with her knowledge, which is plentiful.

Not only does Rhianna have some amazing tips for Instagram, we also chatted about her blogging journey, recent migration from Robowecop to Rhianna Olivia AND we have a chunky, super useful chat about how Google Analytics can help you and your blog.

I also share my own ignorance so it was a good bit of clarification for me!

If you are baffled by Google Analytics and what metrics/stats to use in your media kit etc -- this one is the episode for you.

  • My Blogging Journey

In this week's episode the wonderful, the tables were turned and the wonderful Sam Sparrow interviewed me! I have to admit I felt pretty awkward (which you can probably tell) and it made me realise how hard it must be for some of my guests!

I guess I took it for granted people enjoy sharing their story, but it's not always that simple. So much of our self-worth is wrapped around not being a show-off, not being too 'loud' so when we are asked to share accolades we get a little shy. Well, I know I do anyway.

You all know me, so you don't need the traditional show notes. But if you want to know a bit more about my story, I share it with my email subscribers in a bit more detail. Sign up by clicking the button below >>

  • Jessica Rose Williams | How to Avoid Comparison

Welcome to EPISODE 16. These past few weeks have seen me burnout, want to give up before starting afresh with a new, kick ass plan. Thanks to lots of people (including myself!) but also thanks to Jessica. When I recorded this episode I was feeling really low, overwhelmed and lost. I struck up an Insta-friendship with Jessica who, perhaps without even realising, transformed me.

Anyway, all that's to say this is a great episode and one that's a little bit close to my heart! Hope you love it, and if you do: PLEASE leave a review on iTunes. It helps other people find the podcast and stops my ego from shrivelling up and dying ;)

Jessica is a minimalist lifestyle blogger and coach living in Sheffield, and despite only starting her blog a few short months ago (her blog is the same age as my baby!) she’s garnering big numbers and fab engagement, due in no small part to her authentic presence and quality content.

We chatted about minimalism, and the myths that surround it, why and how she finally started her blog and why content will always be king.

If you’re thinking about starting a blog but you feel completely overwhelmed -- this one’s for you.

  • Kayte Ferris | How to market with soul

Welcome to episode FIFTEEN of the podcast. Where I finally manage to record a podcast which I don't have to heavily edit myself out. It's a definite art form, this podcasting lark. While I am LOVING learning a new skill, I'm finding listening to myself painful at times (why am I so airy-fairy?!) Anyway, on with this weeks episode.

Kayte is, hands down, one of the most laser focused people I’ve ever met. In a good way!! A blogger, and marketing specialist, she decided she was sick of her day job and managed to quit six months later!

Fact: When I asked people on Instagram if they had any good ideas for future guests, she suggested herself. Which I LOVED! More people do this please!!

She has the most beautiful Instagram feed, and her simple lifestyle blog Simple and Season is packed to the brim with slow living inspo and practical tips for creatives. We had a great, super honest chat about cutting loose blogs that aren’t working, cultivating community and starting with the end in mind.

If you want to learn how to sell without feeling gross or need a boost of focus and creativity this ones for you!

  • Char Taylor | Working With Brands & Redefining Family Travel

Welcome to WEEK FOURTEEN of the podcast!! This week I chat to the super dreamy Char, who writes the blog Taylor Hearts Travel. A family traveller who adventures with the best of them, and another part-time blogger who manages to create an incredible amount of content, Char also has a cheeky sideline in beautiful mini explorer milestone cards (which you may have seen me use on Instagram!)

    SUBSCRIBE TO THE PODCAST

Char writes the blog Taylor Hearts Travel showing us all that travel doesn’t have to stop when you have a baby. And you also don’t need to solely go to Center Parcs either! She is one of the nicest bloggers around and is a brilliant role model for any new bloggers out there wanting to crank things up a notch and start working with brands.

We had a great chat about changing your blog when you start a family, why life doesn’t end when you have kids (phew!) and how you can work with brands even if you feel like you have nothing to offer.

If you’re worried about how to fit your family into your blog or want to start reaching out to brands -- this one's for you!

  • Amanda Start | Creating a good work routine

Hola! It's EPISODE 13. Which means I've been podcasting for 13 weeks. Obviously. The reason that's crazy to me is that as I write this, my baby is 20 weeks......that's crazy. How I started a podcast with a newborn is something I'll never understand but I *might* write about it one day. Before we jump in, I wanted to just let you know I've decided to take a break after episode 22, which will air on the 20th November. I haven't decided how long I'll take, but it feels right to break for Christmas and start fresh in the new year! I have a few guests lined up already, but I am always SO keen to hear who YOU want to listen to - if you have time, please drop me a tweet, or an email and let me know :)

I discovered the wonderful Online Stylist via Erica Davies' Instagram feed and quickly became more than a little obsessed with her stylish feed, love of cashmere and monochrome and coffee addiction.

I loved chatting to Amanda, who is one of the nicest bloggers around (I feel like I say that every week but I’m so lucky to have connected with so many epic people!). She’s incredibly positive, and manages to impart a stack of wisdom throughout our chat while being insanely humble!

She’s great at getting media coverage for The Online Stylist, having been featured in a stack of glossies and nationals including the Telegraph, the Times and Red. She has some fantastic tips on staying organised when you work from home and how to maintain productivity as your creativity ebbs and flows.

If you’re keen to up your content game and need some help getting yourself organized, this one’s for you!

  • Elle Croft | How to get a book deal

So, I’ve realised I have a potty mouth. It’s terrible! I’m actually going to stop swearing as much so I can have an episode rated CLEAN, which I haven’t managed since the episode with Monica. Facepalm. My wonderful guest this week is Elle Croft of ElleCroft.com. Elle is a blogger, social media expert and a PUBLISHED writer -- yep, she wrote a BOOK. She is also one of my favourite writers and human beings in general

  • Giulia Mule | Food Photography & Creating For Good With

My first slight podcasting-related drama! I mean, not really. But it was all a little fraught this week as I had a brilliant chat with my lovely friend Giulia then realised I needed to publish the episode today, instead of two months time because I really wanted to promote something that is happening in a couple of weeks!!

That meant recording a pre-roll, writing show notes and turning around the edit before uploading it all to my podcast host in less than a week. This actually isn't a big deal at all, except baby. So I did my first ever bit of outsourcing and got a professional podcast producer to edit it. He, amazingly, turned it around in a couple of days which is why it is only slightly delayed in getting to your ears.

Giulia was deep in organising the next Creating For Good event, a panel discussion about staying authentic held on the 19th September (with Sara Tasker amongst others!) If you want to come along (and meet me!!) head to the Creating for Good website and secure your ticket by donating £20 to Just Bread London (make sure you follow the instructions here).

It's all for such a good cause and, to be honest, even it wasn't I'd want to go along as the evening looks SO much fun!

We chatted all about Instagram and how she manages content planning and editing, food styling and photography (there are some FAB tips for you here) and all about why and how Creating for Good started.

  • Sam Sparrow | Pivoting your Niche

Welcome to episode TEN of What She Said! Sam Sparrow is my actual real life friend. So this is one of those awesome chats where we are literally sat in my living room, with tea and custard tarts just having a good natter. These are my FAVOURITE chats…..hence why everyone I invite on the show is someone I know I’m gonna have a laugh with.

    SUBSCRIBE TO THE PODCAST

Anyway, back to Sam. Sam is a BABE….an actual unicorn and I love her. Without Sam this podcast wouldn’t exist and she is someone who I speak to near-daily for support, lols and gossip. I’m a big fan as you can probably tell.

Sam's an interesting one: an old-hat blogger in many ways, she started out way back when and has changed focus fairly recently from co-managing the super popular Unsorry Magazine & podcast (on indefinite hiatus) with best-mate Lea Rice to creating her travel blog As The Sparrow Flies.

We chat about Pinterest and why this is such a traffic booster for your blog, why it’s important not to get too bogged down in the social media platforms you don’t like and how to network when you don’t like people!

If you’ve been struggling with Pinterest, or are a little scared to break into a new niche -- this one's for you!

  • Beverley Reinemann | Using Instagram Stories effectively

Meeting people online is weird to 'normal' people I think. But for us bloggers? We are so used to being online all day. errr'y day finding a tribe out there and making connections on social media is completely normal. And I've honestly never met one of my online crushes IRL and been disappointed. Same goes for Beverley who, to be honest, I still haven't met IRL. But I did the next best thing which was to have a natter on Skype. I'm hoping the audio quality of these episodes is getting better each week as I learn. But being a mum of a chirpy little newborn it's never gonna be free from her gargles, hiccups and occasionally sneezes. There's a wee warning for you.

    Now, onto this weeks episode!

    SUBSCRIBE TO THE PODCAST

Ahhhh I love Beverley! Fun fact, we haven’t met in real life yet but I clicked with her immediately. She is so warm and friendly and full of wisdom she doesn’t even realise she has! Beverley runs the blog Pack Your Passport as well as a successful freelance career in social media management, copywriting, and PR consulting.

We had such a fun chat about how the blogging landscape has changed over the years, delve into the dark art that is SEO, and Beverley drops some Instagram Stories truth bombs! I also admit to some of the blogging things I didn’t know and we have a good laugh at the stupid Google Spider (is that its name?!)

If you want to up your SEO or Instagram stories game, this is the episode for you.
