Hit follow and give us a rating and review wherever you pod. Become an OnlyPaid via Substack, I will read your reviews and messages on the pod! Like this one from Colleen Kenny: "I found a video of Juliet Liu on Threads that blew my mind. She said "tech bros are failed artists." it is true, it is profound, and it is part of a long history of people who aren't honest about what they really want and how it relates to hollywood. financialists buying studios and media companies so they can be creativity adjacent because they didn't have the stones to be an artist." Thank you! Send me your messages and reviews!
My first guest today is a sickening drag queen, fierce business mogul, and lifelong culinary connoisseur who has authored an INCREDIBLE cookbook Kim Chi Eats the World and the children’s book Donutella Hamachi and the Library Avengers. He is also a super fun and sweet friend who shares my love of food and togetherness. Please welcome SAENG aka KIM CHI! (https://kimchithequeen.com/)
My next guest is expanding palates & minds through cooking, urban gardening, advancing culture & building community through Drizzle Catering and the Mogu Magu project. You’ve seen her on Beat Bobby Flay and as a winner of the Chopped 420 cooking competition and she’s one of my best buds, CHEF WENDY Z! (https://www.instagram.com/chefwendyz/)

Let’s welcome, SHANTIRA JACKSON! (https://www.shantira.com/)

That’s nice. And she said, “Of course! You’re Charlene Kaye!” Please welcome, CHARLENE KAYE! (https://kayeofficial.com/)
And on the final mic, heard but kinda seen today? He’s the co-founder of the marketing and branding company “Let’s Brand!”, my sweetie and co-producer of life, and today’s White Man who is going to serve us today at the Decolonized Afternoon Tea, Corey Higgs (http://okletsbrand.com/).

What a fantastic episode! You and Patton are the dream team...maybe you should tour together?!?!?! Also the Dave Chappelle stuff is hard and I also love him and I also 100% respect other opinions on him. He is one of the very few wealthy Black cultural figures I hold grace for even when it’s super hard. He seems to genuinely be trying and I think Patton articulated that well. As an elder Millennial who saw him rise and crash out multiple times, I’m betting on good and the humor he has brought to us to keep evolving. ❤️” Thank you! Send me your messages and reviews!

“I subscribed just so I could hear the Harry Potter segment. It was like a group therapy session I needed to listen in on for my own mental health. I like the idea of being able to take the robe on and off. I grew up thinking I was a Gryffindor until it turned out in my late teens that I was a Ravenclaw. It’s genuinely heartbreaking and soul crushing to see the person who wrote those deeply empathetic books become such a a hateful activist. The world and its characters helped make me the person I am today. I still get emotional when I think about certain moments. There is still great artistry and themes in the books and movies. I still cherish my time in that world with its characters. But, while the writer still lives and chooses to use her creation as a path for destruction, I can’t in good conscience publicly or monetarily support it. The world needs to know more about the dangers facing the trans community than it needs to know how Mr. Ollivander makes his wands.”

“Thank you for sharing this emotional work you’re doing. I am the oldest daughter of Taiwanese immigrant parents. Here’s to us immigrant daughters surviving and thriving in this society while learning to love our parents the best we can (with boundaries). “ - GIN
My first guest is a writer and comedian who has credits writing for Platonic on Apple and you might have seen him on his viral Instagram Series “What the Old Gays Remember” my friend and one of my comedian heroes GUY BRANUM (https://www.instagram.com/guybranum)!
You might not know my next guest for being on stage or in front of the camera like most of my guests but she is one of the people I have come to check in with as a trusted co-conspirator about the woes of the world. She is a recovering Hollywood professional. She started out at Michael De Luca Productions, worked at Universal for top dawg Donna Langley, became a studio exec, had a climate existential crisis during the pandemic, which led to her to becoming a producer across film/tv/theater (she won a Tony for A STRANGE LOOP), and then after the strikes she pivoted into working in the climate space as a cultural strategist. Now she’s figuring out what to do with the rest of her life, like the rest of us!! JULIET LIU (https://www.instagram.com/juliettliu/)!
