Caitlin writes these descriptions and currently has had 3 Aperol spritzes in Capri, but this episode was a joy for her to edit. We play truth or dare and enjoy each other's company. Today we are joined by cinematographer, producer, and the host of the Moving Past Murder Podcast Collier Landry. Collier opens up to us about how, when he was 11 years old, he witnessed his father Jack Boyle brutally murdering his mother Noreen Boyle and attempting to cover up her death. With the help of detectives, Collier was able to help solve his mother's murder and was a key witness in putting his father behind bars. In the interview, we get into a number of topics relating to the murder and otherwise, including the stigma he felt surrounding him in the aftermath of the murder; how his father was both violent towards him and his mother yet caring and compassionate on the job as an osteopath; the ways in which he resembles and continues to emulate his late mother; and so much more. Off the topic of murder, we also discuss Collier's 20s, his time in Los Angeles, his dating life, and exploring his sexuality. Find out more about Collier and his story at his website collierlandry.com and follow him on Instagram and TikTok @collierlandry. Listen to his podcast here and watch his film A Murder in Mansfield on Hulu or Amazon Prime. Today we are joined by actor, comedian, producer, podcast host, and the longest-tenured SNL cast member Kenan Thompson. We kick off the episode with Kenan explaining how he and Caitlin met and what prompted him to come on the podcast. We then start to delve into topics such as his love and respect for the theatre; how he got into acting; and growing up and balancing his Nickelodeon career with going to school. Next we move into a discussion about his time at SNL, touching on how he got cast after several rejections due to his "baby face"; the ways in which he's seen SNL and the comedy scene evolve in his 19 years on the show; his absolute favorite role to date being a girl dad to Georgia and Giana; balancing family life with his busy career; and so much more. Along the way he shares some of his favorite SNL memories from over the years, his reasons behind starting his production company Artists for Artists, and his take on the ongoing Dave Chapelle conversation. We finish up with a game of "7 Tea Questions" and are even blessed enough to hear some of his favorite impressions. Unsurprisingly, this is one of Caitlin and Nina's favorite episodes to date! Today we are joined by model, comedian, and all-around fantastic human Wren Parker. We kick off the interview discussing how Wren moved from Utah to NYC after getting recruited by a modeling agency to be a curve/plus-sized model. Today she works with huge companies like Skims, Retrofete, and more, and she gives us an inside peak into what the life of a model looks like behind the scenes. Next, we talk about her journey navigating some of the highs and lows of her life, including the loss of her father; her journey with faith & leaving the Mormon community she grew up in; growing comfortable with the lack of certainty in life; and embracing the fact that we are all flawed and never going to be a "finished product." Along the way, we touch on her comedy career as well as her budding new relationship. We also laugh, feel like we're going to cry, and marvel at some of the wisdom she has for us and the listeners.
