Today's episode has been in the works for a few weeks. During the October 23rd game between the Dallas Mavericks and the Toronto Raptors, Bibs voiced some frustrations with the Mavs broadcast. Publicly, Mark Followill had a response after the game, defending his work. Privately, Skin reached out to have a conversation. 

From that conversation, this episode was sparked. Skin hoped to be able to share his perspective and hear ours and we all hoped that the listeners would get something out of the conversation. 

We know this isn't a normal episode, we barely talked about basketball but we hope this will be a valuable experience for a lot of people and we welcome all feedback.

The Mavericks come out of another winning week and now sit at 6-3 on the season which is good for 3rd place in the West. However, we saw two close wins against teams that have played poorly so far this season and another double-digit loss to the only good team we played this week. We'll take the W's but who is this team? We also saw the return of Kristaps Porzingis and his back looked very loose. The Outsiders discuss all of this in this week's episode.

This week we introduced another new segment with our Question of the Week in which we asked the timeline for their best Mavs-related question and answered the best 1 (actually 2) on the podcast. Under normal circumstances, this would have been a great week for the Dallas Mavericks. The team went 3-1 and now sits at a respectable 4-2 on the season. However, it has been difficult to feel good about any of the wins and both losses were blowouts to winning playoff teams. On top of this, the Mavs are now dealing with injuries to key players in Kristaps Porzingis and Maxi Kleber. The Outsiders discuss all of this in this week's episode. 

Unlike last week where we had a special topic that took up a huge chunk of the episode, we were able to stay strictly business this time and just talk about the games.

In this week's episode of the Mavs Outsiders podcast, Bibs and Reese FINALLY have real basketball to talk about. The Dallas Mavericks played the Atlanta Hawks and the Toronto Raptors this week and the results were mixed. We go over both games, the things we saw, and our expectations going forward. 

From there we get into the Haralabos Voulgaris, or Bob, interview. Bob went onto The ESPN Daily podcast to speak with Pablo Torre about his life and his time with the Dallas Mavericks. Bob apparently did not sign any type of non-disclosure agreement because he disclosed everything. From his start with the team to his relationship with Donnie, Rick, and the rest of the Mavs staff. He mentioned players by name and gave his version of different events that were mentioned in the Tim Cato bombshell from the Summer. When listening to someone tell their side of the story you always have to take it with a grain of salt and Reese and Bibs discuss what their takeaways were from this interview. 

Finally, with real basketball, that means the return of Reese's Unsung Hero, and Bibs' Weekly Forecast. Bibs also brought over his parting thoughts/question of the night for this week's entry.

Bibs went through all of NBA history to determine the 75 GREATEST players to play in the NBA/ABA. Last year's results turned out great but there were tweaks made to the formula to see if the results could be even better. I am incredibly happy with the results and cannot wait for you to see the full list.

In part 2, I give you players numbers 70 through 61. I still want to keep these episodes pretty short and consumable and I think I did that. This episode lists our first active players and some other huge names you were likely expecting to hear at some point. Only one player from last year's top 52 fell to this range so you'll see who that was as well.

In this episode, Bibs and Reese are once again joined by a guest from the Mavs media world. This time it is the host of the Mavs Stepback podcast (@StepBackMavs) and writer for Mavericks Sports Illustrated (@MavericksSI), Dalton Trigg. This episode is a long one because we covered a lot of topics and did a deep dive into the upcoming NBA season. 

First, we addressed the Dallas Mavericks' most recent cuts, most specifically cutting the 31st pick in last year's draft Tyrell Terry. Both Dalton and Reese are Tyrell Terry guys so they had some thoughts on this topic. We moved on to discussing Dennis Smith, Jr. making the Blazers' final roster after receiving a camp invite. Finally, we had to ask Dalton a few key questions to gauge his feelings about the Mavs offseason. 

In the next portion of the pod, the three of us made our season awards predictions and you'll hear some names you may not be expecting. 

Finally, after Dalton had to leave, Bibs and Reese give you their NBA standings through the play-in teams and go round-by-round to give their playoff results.

This week the Outsiders reached out to someone in the building to talk about the past offseason and the upcoming Dallas Mavericks season. Lauren answered questions about her journey thus far covering the team, then moved to questions about the offseason, goals for this upcoming season, what player she expects to have a breakout year. We covered plenty with regard to the moves the Mavericks made this past offseason before the tables were turned and Lauren got to ask us a few questions. 

Before we left, we got into some non-basketball things and got to learn what Lauren is into outside of basketball. Overall, this was a great conversation and Lauren will definitely be back at some point.

In this episode, Bibs and Reese address several Mavs Twitter hot topics from the past few days. The Dallas Mavericks had a quiet week up until Thursday when it came out via Brad Townsend that the infamous Bob the gambler was no longer employed by the team. Twitter had fun with that story, but then Mark Cuban went public and gave us more to talk about. There were several statements that Cuban made that sparked conversation but none sparked more than Cuban saying that Luka and KP's relationship is fine because they like each other's social media posts. Between Bob and the social media topic, that would have been just enough to justify an episode but then Twitter lost its collective minds when the ESPN player rankings came out and Luka Doncic came in at #4. Steph Curry, James Harden, and Nikola Jokic fans were outraged to see their guys land behind Luka in the rankings and took to Twitter to make it known. 

So we had to address that on the podcast as well.
