Welcome to What The Heck's Creature Feature! These episodes explore various cryptids using stories gathered from various sources, then applies an academic research method to find theories to find out what else they might be. So far, we've been unsuccessful in finding any concrete answers. This week your host, Glen, is going to look at the author of his own kind of fiction- H.P. Lovecraft. August 20th is Lovecraft's birthday, so it's only right that Glen looks at his life and some of his works! Today, you'll hear about Lovecraft's life, and the things that he saw and did before he became a household name in horror. You'll also hear about one part of the three categories of Lovecraftian stories- The Cthulhu Mythos, and Glen will tell you some other authors involved in that. No Lovecraft episode would be complete without looking at his influence in pop culture and the controversies he and his stories have seen in recent times, so that will be looked at as well.
Lovecraft's works are complex, and his personal views are not reflected as my own.
