9:30 PM | ABC — Bless This Mess David Canfield gave this series debut a B–. “I need a simpler life,” Rio (Lake Bell) says early in the pilot of this ABC comedy. She and new husband Mike (Dax Shepard) have abruptly decided to ditch their bustling New York City lives— she’s a therapist, he’s a music journalist—for Nebraska, home of the shabby farm he just inherited.

STREAMING | NETFLIX ¬– No Good Nick Clark Collis gave this series debut a C. On this mostly-for-kids sitcom dramedy, Melissa Joan Hart and Sean Astin play the Thompsons, parents of two teenagers who take in a distant relative named Nicole (Siena Agudong) after her parents die in a car crash. But wait! “Nick” is really a con artist working with her foster parents to rob the family.

We all know Joseph Pulitzer’s name, thanks to the annual namesake journalism prizes, but did you know he’s responsible for the Statue of Liberty getting her base? (It wasn’t part of France’s gift, and Congress refused to fund it.

10PM | CBS — Fam The freshman season of this comedy—starring Nina Dobrev (Clem) and Tone Bell (Nick)— has been building to this...and creator Corinne Kingsbury offers one warning: “You may get a case of the cries.” Happily engaged, their world was turned upside down when Clem’s little sister, “maybe the worst teenager in the world,” unexpectedly showed up to live with them, but that couldn’t stop what happens in the finale.

9PM | ABC — Schooled Principal Glascott and Coach Mellor are in a 1:1 game of mascotball (y’know, when you can’t decide who/what should be the school mascot—duh), and Lainey and CB become school gossip as they fight to protect the student radio station’s right to free speech. 9PM | DISCOVERY — Deadliest Catch Lynette Rice gave the season premiere an A–. Fifteen extraordinary seasons in, the show still knows how to pump up the drama—like another health scare with the beloved Capt. Sig Hansen, and an ongoing beef between Capt. Keith Colburn and his poor, put-upon brother Monte. But the true hand-wringing comes when the fishermen realize all the king crab have congregated in a relatively tiny 800-square-mile area of the Bering Sea.

CHECK LOCAL | LISTINGS PBS — The Providers This Independent Lens documentary follows three health care professionals in New Mexico, where rural America’s opioid epidemic is prevalent—even a medical director’s own father and sister have struggled with drugs. Here, these providers offer hope to those who can’t find it elsewhere.

9 PM | NBC — Will & Grace Karen’s season-long investment will finally pay off when Jack (Sean Hayes) and Estefan (Brian Jordan Alvarez) finally tie the knot in the season finale.
