Welcome back WYDKers! We're all refreshed from our midseason break and have an insane episode for you. Fresh off the release of "Leaving Neverland," the documentary that brought more shocking allegations against pop icon Michael Jackson to light, dad and I dive into what it was like when the first trial broke. You'll never believe what a source close to this case said about Jackson's guilt.

Can you imagine flying over Mexico as an aftershock from one of the world’s most deadly quakes shakes the earth below? I can’t, but my dad has the memory of that exact situation.
The Mexico City Earthquake of 1985 killed over 10,000 people and left more than 250,000 without homes. Hundreds of buildings crumbled, and beneath Juarez Hospital, the miracle babies born on the day of the quake clung to life as rescuers fought to save them.
My dad was right there, observing the horror and trying to help those involved make sense of it all.
This is what you didn’t know about the deadly Mexico quake of 1985.

Mark Thomas was a notorious white supremacist, hated every race and culture besides his own, and was arrested for conspiring to rob banks to fund his violent cause. In 1997, my father traveled to Easton Pennsylvania and came face to face with the face of hate, while really pissing off the FBI in the process.
The Bureau said that Thomas trained Timothy McVeigh, the eventual Oklahoma City Bomber.
Here’s what you didn’t know about Thomas’ call to my dad, his exclusive interview, and what it was like sitting in his home as the FBI waited to perform a covert operation to arrest him.

This is a bit of a departure for dad. This episode is total high-octane fun -- a story about finding Axl Rose, Slash, and the rest of Guns 'N Roses in Axl's West Hollywood apartment. Drinking, a tale of accidentally getting too high in college, being too drunk to go on TV and so much more, listen to this one at full volume!
Also -- IT'S MY BIRTHDAY! And the controversial song that prompted dad to have to go find Axl Rose, "One In A Million" was released on this day, Nov. 30, 1989.

Damacio Torres walked into USC Medical Center with concealed weapons and opened fire on any doctor he could see. Along the way he took hostages, and terrorized patients before surrendering.
Initially, Torres was described as "a disgruntled patient fed up with waiting," but my dad found out his motivation was much more sinister than impatience.
This episode is a complete shocker. Listen now to find out what surprise piece of evidence my dad still has to this day.

Hello ghouls, goblins, enemies and friends this is a very special episode of What You Didn’t Know. We usually focus on cases my dad worked, but today, were diving into a Tess only special.
A couple Halloween’s ago I was craving a story, something creepy, something spooky, something true.
In my avid googling I discovered the Winchester Mystery House, a towering monolith of doom and despair that to this day looms over Silicon Valley.
I went into my boss’ office at ABC in San Francisco and said something like “This house is nuts, let’s do a tour for Halloween and really dive in.”
My pitch was picked up and before I knew it I was taking a Saturday down to San Jose to discover the house that ghosts built.
To go on an interactive tour of the Winchester Mystery House, check out my old article here: https://abc7ne.ws/2CRycsA

Tracy Lords is now known as an accomplished actress who has appeared in everything from John Waters' cult classic "Cry Baby" to parts in "Gilmore Girls" and "Will and Grace" but before she went mainstream, she starred in some "adult" films when she was very, very underage. The controversy caught up with those who employed her in the 80s, while my dad was in Los Angeles, and guess who had to go out and find Traci to get comment on the strange events? My dad.
Get ready for a completely bizarre and possibly NSFW journey into something I never thought I'd have to talk to my dad about. But hey, journalism.
This is What You Didn't Know about the Traci Lords pornography controversy.

Fred Neulander was a Reform rabbi from Cherry Hill New Jersey who was convicted of hiring two hitmen to kill his wife Carol.
She was beaten to death inside her home on Nov. 1, 1994.
Fred was convicted of murder and is now serving a life sentence.
The motivation for the murder? An affair, and a desire to end his marriage. Here’s how my dad caught an unbelievable break on a New Jersey bridge and found the Rabbi’s mistress…this is what you didn’t know about Rabbi Neulander’s murder-for-hire plot.
