Emerging from theological shifts like those in the Geneva Bible and spurred by geopolitical events such as the Balfour Declaration and the Six-Day War, the movement faced opposition from some Jewish groups, particularly Reform Jews, and even criticism for alleged ties to anti-Semitic ideas, yet gained traction through American evangelicalism, a commitment to the liberal order, and lobbying efforts like AIPAC.
