Dr. Sonya Privette, one of three children, was born to Willie and Viola Privette. She was educated in the Philadelphia, Roman Catholic & the Sisters of Mercy School System. Dr. Sonya is a graduate of Anointed for Destiny Prophetic School, a graduate of the Mel Floyd School of Evangelism, a graduate of Christian Research and Development Training Institute, and a graduate of New Life Bible Institute Missionary Training School.

She currently attends Greater Commission Bible College. She also is a Chaplain, Certified Biblical Counselor, Pastoral Counselor, Professional Counselor, Professional PTSD Counselor, Life Coach, and Consultant. Dr. Sonya is a member of the Christian Authors on tour and volunteered as a co-host in which she interviewed Christian authors on their Blog Talk Radio Show, and a member of the African American Author’s Expo both based in Maryland. She also is a member of the Oregon Christian Writers. Dr. Sonya Privette is the proud mother of three beautiful children. She is a native of Philadelphia, Pa, but now resides in Portland, Oregon. She is a Force that is Here to Teach others how to become an overcomer. Sonya is a child of Abuse. The following is her Truth I am a child of abuse. When I was a little girl I was abused by my father. I went to church every Sunday, also attending Sunday School and Bible study but even though my family went to church it did not stop me and my sister from being abused. My older brother was about 1-year ½ and he died when he was a baby from walking pneumonia and neglect that is what I was told.

I grew up in a house full of secrets and we were not allowed to tell what was going on. I was in middle school and the nun would not let me go to the bathroom so I had an accident when my father came home, he beat me with his belt buckles and I had bruises all over my body my mother heard me scream and cry and she just listened and she has done nothing. My mom told me the next day that if I told anybody my father is going to punish me. I went to school and told my friends and they told the principal and I was examined by the nurse. The principal told my parents I could not come back to school until I saw a doctor. I went to the doctor and he saw my bruises and talked to my father and told him if he did it again he was going to jail. Now my father was a correctional officer. DHS was never notified and the system failed me and my sister.

There was no hope for us. I and my sister were abused for years. My father sang in the choir and we were under the word of God still nothing changed. I was molested several times even by a family member, boys, and men, some I did not know. There was an incident on the 15 trolleys, I was coming home from high school and was on the trolley with my friend at the time and a man approached me and I got up and went to tell the driver and the man followed me and held me and pressed, me into the money box in front of the driver and told everyone I was his wife and no one helped me and they watched him molest me. The driver stopped the trolley and called the cops and they came and took him off the trolley but never said anything to me.

I got pregnant at the age of 15, had my first child at 16, 19, and 21, and also had an abortion at 18. I was broken. The church failed me, the Baptist church that I grew up in one of the deacons asked when I had one son and was pregnant with the other son am I going to have any other kids, after that I left the church for 10 years.

They were able to reminisce about growing up together during their younger years .

The visit was Marvelous.I understand never

Put off an opportunity to visit your Love

one during such a crucial time.

Never procrastinate and say I will do it tomorrow.

We only have today for sure.

But not Tomorrow.

If you wait for tomorrow.It could be too Late.

She is Missed.

Kashous is the Son of Cassie and Dashon. He has one 3 year old sister Named Baelynn. Cassie and Dashon is expecting another Baby Boy December 25-December 31 2022. Kashous and Baelynn is so Happy to become a Big brother and sister. Kashous is 5 year old. He was Born 8-22-17. He is a Total Sun Eclipse Baby. He is so intelligent Beyond His Years. He will sit down with you and talk about some interesting topics. He wants to know about his Great Great GrandParents. He asked where are they? Where did they go? He told his 210 Grandma Everyone has a Soul. Even ifYou are Dead or Alive. 210 Grandma was given that name by her grandchildren because her address is 210. They have 4 grandma’s. Each one have a unique Name. So no one will be confused when they are talking to one of their grandma’s. Another deep conversation. He Said “ Grandma what is your biggest Fear.” I had to think hard because no one has ever asked me That Question I said to loose my family is a big fear I would be very sad to not have a Family. Kashous has been awarded twice this year already. He received Star student awards. He helps and Cares about helping other people. He said he wants to be a teacher .He wants to teach others. Kashous loves to Read books. Right now he is reading at 2nd and 3rd Grade level.He  Loves Family time together. Thank you Kash for bringing so much Joy to the Family Balinda Great Grandma and LaShonti 210 Grandma.

Shirley's sons Mark, Erin Rip, and Julian Rip. Shirley is a grandmother and great Grandmother. Shirley is an accomplished beautician. She owned her own hair Salon for years. She is one of Portland's Best beauticians. She taught at the beauty school. Shirley is a Great cook. I can say she makes a great Banana pudding. She loved cooking Home cooked meals for her Family She has Always loved the finer things in life. She loves to dress up . Everything matches From head to Toe. Color coordinated. Shirley has been a role model for so many people in her life. Family Life has always been a priority in Shirley's Life Shirley is a very Strong intelligent loving no-nonsense Black woman. Shirley can help teach others by example how to overcome. She has dealt with so many life and death experiences. She loves the Lord. She is a member of #Sharon Seventh Day Adventist church.

John L.Olive born in Camden Mississippi July 28, 1950. John is the eldest of eight children .6 born to Martha VanArsdale Olive and Herbert H.Olive Sr. They moved to Portland Oregon to start a new life in 1952. John attended Boise Elliot and Highland grade school and graduated from from Jefferson high school in 1968.

John Loved Basketball. He continued his education and received his BS degree in History and a certificate in Urban Planning and Development from Portland State University. John received his Journey-mans card in the flooring business and Carpet layer in the 1980s. John has owned his Carpet and flooring business for over 30 years. John acquired his real estate license and his insurance license in 1980. John has always believed in doing for self .John is known in Portland Oregon for his great carpentry and flooring work .

John continues to educate at his training center located on North Lombard in Portland Oregon. John is an advocate for Black people advertising in the African American business directories. John helped the founder of the black directory for the last eight years of her life. John worked hard for years with the Black Dollar Day Task Force. Teaching the importance of working together John continues to teach how to make money while you sleep. He understands the dynamics of pooling resources and working together .

John is a family man he lost his Lovely wife Gloria Olive of 45 years on November 18, 2019. They have three sons and one Granddaughter. John is spiritual. He believe in God and he knows his purpose in this life .He is an Elder and Sabbath School Teacher. He want to help others reach their financial success, and to live a happy and prosperous life, enjoying your family and friends. We need to leave a legacy for our future generations. It is time to Unite.

Love each other more than we loved each other Before. The time is Ripe don’t wait.

Lashanti and Balinda will discuss the 5th Anniversary of The Murder for 2men that was Stabbed to death trying to Protect 2 Teenagers from a Racist Man Harassing Them on the Max Train in Portland,Or May 2017. Another man was stabbed but he survived.

Lashanti will share a Poem Balinda wrote Welcome to The New Earth in memory of the Families that loss their Love ones and the Survivors . In 2022 Mental Illness is on the Rise.We are witnessing so much Anger, Murder,Death ,Suicide ,Drug Use and Destruction of The Society as we once known.We want to help usher in the new Earth. Dayle Ann Marvin loves working with children and has spent most of her life in an educational capacity. As a teenager, growing up in Idaho, she led youth groups, was a counselor in summer camps, and had a Sunday School class. During college, her interests expanded to the great outdoors where she worked for Outward Bound, a small logging company, the Youth Conservation Corp,s and, on a college rock-climbing trip, she would meet her future husband. She found her “niche” in private education when she and her husband settled in Oregon. She spent 27 years teaching children, teaching Spanish, and taking groups of youth on outdoor adventures to share her love of the fresh air and beauty available around Oregon.   

Growing up in the 60s, her mother was an activist for civil rights and peace, and now the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Upon retiring from teaching, Dayle Ann has turned to volunteer avenues for helping people navigate the waters of our changing society as it suffers from the deterioration of morals. She became the Executive Director for The Way to Happiness, Portland Chapter in November 2020 and really enjoys the simple task of helping others to improve the conditions of their lives.
