(Warning: Graphic content is used) The legacy of Emmett Till possesses so much upon our history. The galvanization of the Civil Rights Movement wouldn't have been possible without the choice of making the murder of Emmett Till a public matter. The outrage from the Black community sparked enormous portions of awareness around this case, along with the pivotal decision from Till's mother to hold an open-casket funeral. This has been an amazing process, writing and documenting this case after knowing it for such a long time. The legacy of Till and his murder has been such a pivotal moment in my life, showing me the horrific realities of racism, but also the choices that these notable activists and figures made to turn this pain into purpose. I hope to speak on Black history again, and as always, thank you for listening.

Episode Three covers the arrival of Till in Mississippi, his incident at Bryant’s Grocery and Meat Market, along with contextually uncovering the childhoods of Carolyn and Roy Bryant, and JW Milam. I then, unfortunately uncover the last moments of Till’s life and offer my personal thoughts and perspectives on it.
