Since a computer can be programmed to guess a password 1,000 times a second the time for difficult to figure out passwords has passed and difficult to crash passwords are now the best idea. In this episode, Birgit Pauli-Haack and Jim O’Reilley have a casual discussion with Jeff Chandler of WPTavern.
After welcoming Jeff, Birgit asked about how he got started with WordPress and then WPTavern. Jeff speaks about how he was blogging using a different Content Management System, Joomla, but began looking for another CMS with better features for him. He tried WordPress once and continued his search, and then came back to WordPress.
Birgit asked about how he and his colleague, Sara Gooding, find topics to write about. Jeff says that he follows over 50 RSS streams and also uses Feedly and Google Alerts to see what is fresh out there. Internally some of the tools utilized by this two-person publishing team are Telegram, Slack, and Facebook Messenger.
Jeff then takes our listeners through quite a thorough description of how they use EditFlow as a collaborative tool to improve productivity. Birgit encourages him to discuss the reaction to a negative piece he wrote a while back on EditFlow, and how the EditFlow team took his criticism to heart and created some changes in the plugin.
Finally, he was asked about what WordPress has in store for 2017. Although not committing to 2017, Jeff as a writer has high anticipation on what a revampt of the WordPress’ Editor will bring.
Our audience will learn quite a bit about EditFlow and WPTavern in this episode. Please don’t hesitate to provide us with your comments and suggestions.
