  • NETFLIX - The Devil All the Time (2020)
Ooohhh WEEE! Is there a lot going on in THIS movie. Its deep south bible country in the 50s, its Tom Holland, its Robert Pattinson, its.....BUCKY?? We have some strong and surprising opinions on this one.

Well worth a watch on Netflix first if you're looking for something good to watch this weekend.

We also discuss movies, foggy hospital trips and turning into your parents. Enjoy!

Hey there folks, hope yous are enjoying the break. No new episode this week so here's one that we really enjoyed doing over on Patreon a while back.

We're back in Hollywood, each armed with 3 brand new movie ideas to pitch to the other person. We always enjoy recording these ones, but this one in particular was possibly the biggest laugh we've ever had recording a podcast, so hopefully you enjoy it even half as much as we did recording it.

  • NETFLIX - Roma (2018)
Remember the Mank podcast? Well, its back (in Roma form). Ah no its not as bad as that, although we disagree wildly on this movie. This movie received 10 (TEN!) Oscar noms, winning 3. It is directed by the same chap who did Y Tu Mama Tambien, Children of Men and Gravity. So it CANT be bad, can it?! We chat about the movie, the cinematography, the direction, and engage in CIVIL DISCOURSE over our disagreements. Enjoy!

  • NETFLIX - The Forgotten Battle (2020)
This week we're reviewing a Dutch WW2 movie called The Forgotten Battle (or if you prefer... De Slag om de Schelde).

1944, the Second World War. A British glider pilot, a Dutch boy fighting on the German side and a Dutch female resistance member all end up involved in the Battle of the Schelde. Their choices differ, but their goal is the same: freedom!

This movie is available on Netflix and is well worth a look! We break down the movie and  discuss the battle scenes, the tension with the Nazis, and how movies with a relatively low budget can still look so good. Enjoy!

  • NETFLIX - Mank (2020)
In Netflix latest shameless quest for Oscar nominations, we review Mank! Shot in black and white, about screenwriter Herman J. Mankiewicz and his development of the screenplay for Citizen Kane (So you KNOW the Academy would be creamin' their jeans). Directed by the great David Fincher based on a screenplay by his late father Jack Fincher.

Well, this one was a doozy...

  • NETFLIX - No One Gets Out Alive (2021)
Guess who's turn it was to pick this week's movie?

This is a classic example of the kind of random horror you'd find on the shelf of an xtra-vision in the 90s. It's about an immigrant in search of the American dream who, after being forced to take a room in a boarding house, finds herself in a nightmare she can't escape.

We chat about what we liked, what we didn't, the ludicrous ending, and horror in general. We also chat about the state of the world, Terry gives his thoughts on the changes at Man United, and definitely does NOT work for now tv. Enjoy!

  • NETFLIX - Da 5 Bloods (2020)
We're back discussing the newest Spike Lee joint!! As part of Netflix's big Oscar push, clocking in at a whopping 2 hours 40 minutes!! I know right? We actually dare I say have a great chat about this one.

We talk about the phenominal performances of Delroy Lindo (insane he wasn't nominated for best actor), and of course the late great Chadwick Boseman. We chat about the backdrop, the history, and appreciate all the Marvin Gaye throughout the movie!

This movie is FUCKING long, but definitely worth a watch if you can get past it (and yes this is Andy typing this).

Skip to 29.18 for the review (SPOILERS). Enjoy!!

  • NETFLIX - In the Tall Grass (2019)
We're back baby with a new series of Whats So Great About, this time we're asking whats so great about Netflix, first on the cards is ..... In the Tall Grass!

This is an Andy pick, as it looked like a good interesting "mess with your mind" type horrors, based on a Stephen King novella, about a bunch of people stuck in tall grass, they want to escape but reality and time keep changing!! Or something like that.

We chat about the budget, bit of backstory, and then dive into the madness! SPOILERS GALORE.

We also catch up after two weeks off, Terry's been sick as a dawg and Andy finally passes his driving test :)

Skip to 28:53 for the review.
