Stu Watts chats with JUJO (born Julian Jovanovski), who is a musician and beatmaker from Melbourne. Gigging around Australia since the age of 16, JUJO developed his craft quickly, eventually spending years touring the world and playing everywhere from North America to Europe to Mexico City. Slowly but surely, the classic JUJO sound developed: soulful cuts of guitar, bass and piano, a la classic rock and old school rap; razor sharp, glasslike synths lifted from house and trance music; and the booming, bone-shaking beats that unite the two. He is now a seasoned and in-demand collaborator.
