Interview with Jim Tunney 

Jim is a former American football official in the National Football League (NFL) from 1960 to 1990. In his 31 years as an NFL official, Tunney received a record 29 post-season assignments, including ten Championship games and Super Bowls VI, XI, and XII and named as an alternate in Super Bowl XVIII. He is still the only referee who has worked consecutive Super Bowls, and likely will be the only one to do so.

In the second half of the program we talk to the Chair of Whalefest Monterey, Mary Alice Cerrito Fettis. She has helped bring world recognition to Fisherman’s Wharf and Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary, through the annual “Whalefest Monterey,” which celebrates the sanctuary, and empowers and inspires the public to preserve our oceans. Mary Alice has been the lead organizer, fund-raiser, and facilitator of this free, fun and educational/interactive family event for ten years! She is also the current President of the Board of Directors of Fisherman’s Wharf Association.

Jake Reisdorf - Carmel Honey Company grew out of a passion for bees and good grades. Carmel Honey Company began as a “real world” homework assignment in 5th grade. Jake not only got an A on the project, but he created a business. Jake quickly discovered that he really enjoyed sharing his honey bee knowledge with classrooms and the community. Jake is currently a Senior at Carmel High School and continues to tend bees in Monterey County and build the Carmel Honey Company brand. 

Richard Bates is a boardmember at Fire Safe Council for Monterey - The council is a non-profit corporation committed to protecting lives and property from harm by wildfires, and to educating the public on wildfire dangers and how to reduce them. The council supports projects that help make homes, neighborhoods, and communities fire safe by management of natural and man-made resources.
