In this episode, we invited History Professor Ignacio Gallup-Diaz and Sociology Professor Veronica Montes to share their thoughts on student activism at the College, inspired by the Palestine solidarity encampment (The People’s College) at Bryn Mawr College this spring. Gallup-Diaz and Montes identify patterns and changes within administrative response to student activism over the years discussing the encampment within the legacy of the 2020 strike. The professors situate campus events within a sociopolitical context and recount how student activism throughout their life transformed personal philosophies and pedagogy. Finally, Gallup-Diaz and Montes share their hopes for future institutional changes at Bryn Mawr.

In this episode Celeste will discuss her college experience during an institutionally transformative time period for Bryn Mawr. Celeste will discuss the beginning of her freshman year in 2020 during the pandemic and the strike. She will share the development of her identity as a transracial Asian adoptee alongside the development of Bryn Mawr DEI programs which have facilitated some of her own research on adoptee identity. Finally, Celeste will share her hopes about work still to be done at Bryn Mawr and will explain how her experiences at Bryn Mawr contributed to her interest in perusing a career in education.

In this episode we will be reacting to and discussing various Bryn Mawr scenarios or problems students could face day to day. This episode will be in the style of Michelle Burkey's podcast in which she responds to anonymous Reddit submissions recounting morally complicated scenarios. We plan to cover a range of topics including social life, friendships, roommate issues, dating, academic pathways, Eboards, jobs/employment etc. 

Although we tried to make these BMC (Bryn Mawr College) scenarios probable none of them are real and involve real people, they were all created by our podcast team.
