Who is Nick Nalbach? He's a guy with a nine to five job just like everyone else. But the difference with him is that he's on his second year of his business and he's taking you along for the journey.
I love this episode because Nick talks openly and honestly about what it's like to build your business from scratch WHILE working a day job. The truth is that its a slow but consistent grind so if you don't enjoy the journey then you're gonna get no where fast.
If you're thinking of starting your own business, but it seems too scary or too much to learn then listen to Nick talk about how he knows building his own business is his purpose.
Here is the book Nick mentions in the show:

Naysayers - people that consistently show you negativity and pessimism about your ideas or what you want to do. They are gonna show up unexpectedly and often are the people closest to you. So how do you handle it?
Well in this episode I tell you how to have compassion for someone who's being negative. Then how to gain the confidence to stand up for yourself and what you believe in.
1. Believe in Yourself
2. Look for the Breadcrumbs
3. Listen to the Yesses
You are important. You have something valuable to contribute to the world. Don't let other people's fears and negativity slow you down.

My special guest today was Maria of Bloom and Grow Radio, a podcast all about plant care. For the last three years, Maria was juggling a full time job on Broadway and also running her wildly successful podcast. When the pandemic took over she was left without work for the unforeseeable future. It hit hard and was definitely upsetting, but after she mourned her loss, Maria has dove head first into growing her podcast and supporting people on their plant care journeys.
This was a special treat for me because I've been a fan of her podcast for years now AND we found out that we actually went to the same university and know a handful of the same people. WILD.
Maria inspired me by her resourcefulness, ingenuity and bravery for diving head first into all the things she does. Check out all her offerings especially her Plant Parent Personality Quiz | https://bloomandgrowradio.com/personality. You won't be disappointed.

Have you ever thought about your relationship with yourself? How you treat yourself? How you take care of yourself? And also how you speak to yourself?
All these things contribute to your inner peace or inner turmoil. As you continue your journey to finding your purpose, think about how you can become your own best friend. This journey might be lonely, people might not understand you or why you're doing something. So if you have a good relationship with yourself then you can support yourself when no one else is supporting you.
I spent a long time being critical of myself before I learned that I needed to stop. It's been a long journey but I've become more compassionate, more understanding and more supportive of me and my journey. And also allowing myself to go at the pace I'm meant to go.
Think about how you can be better to yourself and how you can become your own best friend. You won't regret it.

Anfernee create a marketing business that supports social good, teaches with integrity and is something he can be proud of. His journey started with his career as a corporate project manager. He worked so hard that he burned out and contracted a bacterial infection in his brain. That landed him in surgery and then a month long hospital stay in which he had time to ask himself the big question - "Why am I here?"
From then on he went in search of a better way of working and eventually gained the necessary skills to start his own marketing company. Anfernee tells me about what he thinks his calling is - hint it's not marketing - and ideas for what you can do to find your own calling.

In this episode I talk about defying the practical and going against what everyone is telling you. Most people will say go with what you know, go with what's safe, and just keep pushing through the pain. I say - forget that culture. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.
If you're afraid of letting go of that comfortable but drab job, then listen to my tips on how to overcome the guilt of leaving something that's practical.
My intuitive tip this episode is - just pick the first thing that pops in your head! Most often our intuition speaks first but then the logical mind takes over and speaks louder. So slow down, listen to the first thought and pick that even if it doesn't make sense.

Colin has made a life traveling the world doing remove work, but he is the first person I've met that has brought his wife and two daughters along for the ride. He and his wife both created jobs for themselves where they can work from anywhere in the world. But getting to this point was anything but clear and rosy.
He credits the work he's done on his Personal Development journey to understand himself, his values, and what he wants. His foundation remains true and strong even while the world around him might be going through an earthquake.

Welcome to a new year and a new season for the What's Your Calling? Podcast. Today I'm talking to you about how to know if something is your calling. Sometimes people wonder if it's really possible to find something that you love that will make you money. And I say YES. It's totally possible. Especially in today's world with the internet - making money and being of service has many unlimited avenues.
In your search for a calling, it will fit these three criteria:
1. Your calling is something that shows up in your life again and again
2. Your calling will be of service to something in some way
3. Your calling is super interesting or personal to you
If you haven't found it yet, then keep searching and honing your search. No dead end is a failure. Instead it's information to help you find the right path.
If you're looking for more help with getting centered on what you want, how to overcome obstacles, and how to get in touch with your inner guidance, then join me for my FREE webinars. http://www.whatsyourcalling.us/purpose

We have hit December 2020! Thank God! I've been thinking a lot about this year, and have also been setting up my 2021.
In this episode I talk about my biggest take aways from podcasting this year. All that I've gained and grown (learning that I enjoy podcasting, getting excited to create for you, and
growing as a public speaker) . I also talk about what's coming for 2021!
Some quick notes:
1. I've created a separate podcast for my meditations: Meditate with Miinkay
2. Next year is packed full with more stories, ideas, and tips for creating a career you'll love.
Get Journey, the #1 Motivational Journal App. I use and love this app for my reflections, journaling and thoughts. I can get to it from my phone and my computer so when I want to write longform text I have the option. When I just want to put down some thoughts I have that at my finger tips on my phone.
I would highly, recommend journaling your reflections for this year as doing so will help you process and close out the year on a good note. And help you process your emotions so that you can have clarity for a great 2021.
THANK YOU for listening. All the downloads encourage me to create more and do more for you. If you like the show, please write a review to encourage me even more.
Have a happy holiday and a great new year!
