Finally, the FINALE! In this last episode of the podcast, we reflect on all that’s come before. But for once, we don’t just have stories to gab about. We've got stats, baby! That’s right, we took our 75 total interactions and got the hard, cold numbers behind the numbers. Which is to say, we polished what is otherwise a collection of totally subjective anecdotes with a quantitative veneer.
And we do it with flair! For instance, we discovered that 6.5% percent of our hookups happened on Halloween! 38% of these stories were about “one time things”. And 100% percent of the times we tried something new in the bedroom with someone, we had positive feelings about them.
We also talk about where we’re headed, our biggest regrets, and what we’ve learned from these experiences—and from making a podcast about them. So sit back, crack open a beer (we did!), and let’s land this plane together.
To everyone who made it here, to the bittersweet end, thank you!! We would never have made it this far without your laughter and encouragement. 💘 A very special thanks to Diego at Lightning the Cavern Works for all his hard work on this episode and many others.

The final installment of Mariah's sexual chronicles is about a trope so common, it's become glib: love at first sight. In January of 2020, an (almost) 28-year-old software engineer from NYC walked into a co-working space in Medellín and locked eyes with a blue-eyed gal in a black tube top. It was a chance encounter facilitated by Bumble, and their paths only crossed for two weeks, but it was long enough to know. Sparks flew that day; three years later, those sparks have kept Mariah and her beloved Number 44 cozy and in love through five cities and counting.
The thing is, unlike this one, the 43 other stories you heard before all had endings. But no matter how short-lived or how dramatic or difficult, those stories represent the same spirit, the same open-heartedness, the same belief in magic that had to exist to kindle the spark between M. and Number 44 that January day.
So, here's another cheesy story about being willing to let love into your life, because sometimes it just might keep burnin' and burnin'.

From Spain to Colombia (again), from threesomes to sex clubs, this penultimate installment in Mariah's sex chronicles is all about sexual exploration and running away from feelings. After a fun-filled summer in Barcelona, Mariah heads back to Medellín to make it her own again after her breakup from Number 30, but quickly finds she isn't as over him as she thinks she is. As chaotic as this period in her life is, the silver lining is strengthened friendships and a renewed sense that she can stand on her own two feet, no matter what.

As a well-traveled woman, sometimes you hit a point in your journey where you're ready to *really* do things on your terms. For instance, you don't have to have a terrible night's sleep tossing and turning next in someone else's bed after a hookup. And in fact, when you're traveling across the country to meet up with a guy you like but don't know that well, you can, in fact, get yourself your own hotel room.
Spoiler alert: in this episode, Mariah does all of the above.

February 29th, 2020: Olivia goes out with friends on a night that only comes around every four years. It's just a few weeks before the end of the world, but no one knows that yet. She ends up at the port of Barcelona, where people go to play music and drink after the bars close. There's this guy...
It starts as a one-night stand, but they end up falling madly in love. The well-traveled women discuss how the most meaningful relationships hinge on a set of random circumstances. Timing is everything.

Last you heard from Mariah, she was in a brand new relationship with a whimsical, main-character energy guy who she pretty much manifested. And now, a year and half later in summer 2018, Mariah finds herself in Europe, on a brand new adventure in unknown territory. What happens to our hero (or anti-hero) between Numbers 30 and 33, you say? We thought you'd never ask. ;)

It's Olivia's penultimate episode. That's right, we're just one story away from catching up to the present dick—day! Present day. But where you might be expecting to see hope or at least clarity from only-slightly-younger Olivia, what you'll hear in this story is a lot of the same ol' bullshit. Which is to say, club hookups and skinny f***boys abound. There's also a literal clown.
She can't seem to let go of her MO. But! It's always darkest before the dawn. He's out there. He's actually at the same bars and clubs as she is. They just haven't had a chance to meet.
In the meantime, enjoy the cringefest.

Brace yourself for a wild ride! This episode covers ghosts from Mariah's past, present, and future (at the time). We'll go back to the East Coast, back to Colombia, and (briefly) to Panama. We'll hook up, fall in love, and confront demons. Mariah's Number 30(ish) is years in the making, spanning a two-month period that marked the end of a haunted history and the beginning of a great joy. Sprinkle in a little cringe -- Mariah's a complicated character -- and you've got yourself a great story.

Olivia offers to host a long-time crush and fellow traveler at her place in Barcelona, she knows nothing's gonna happen. This guy is ALWAYS in a relationship. She's always liked him from afar, but he's involved with someone. When he tells her he's single, she almost falls off her bar stool...

In this week's episode, Mariah starts a new adventure: five months in Medellín, Colombia. While there she meets a well-traveled local with a unique accent, a nice bod, and a smattering of freckles -- and he wants to hang out A LOT. He introduces her to the fascinating world of sex motels and all the beauty Medellín has to offer.
We hope you enjoy!
