If you're an OG listener, you'll remember the many twists and turns of Mariah's #5 story. The highs, lows, and melodramatic crescendos. If you're newer to the pod (welcome!), you might have heard our wry references to good ol' Number 5 and wondered what it was all about. Well, this week we're re-releasing the first episode in the epic tale, the one where he makes his grand entrance.

When Mariah and Number 16 left their belongings in a storage unit at the beginning of the summer, they didn't bother packing their items into separate boxes. Why would they? Soon enough, they'd be back to pick up where they left off. The only thing that would change after a summer working seasonal jobs in Alaska would be their bank accounts.

Alas, things didn't turned out as planned. The following September, they found themselves extricating their belongings from a series of shared cardboard boxes, just a couple months after Mariah broke up with Number 16 via satellite phone.

Olivia gets settled in her life in Philly. She starts working at a restaurant and sees a new side of the city she didn't experience when she was in college in the city's suburbs. This includes a visit to a strip club in a row house in South Philly where she strikes up a conversation with a young man from the city of brotherly love. 

She's still in touch with #13, but their communication is getting more and more...what's the word? Abusive? Despite the fact that he's all the way in Chile, she's having a hard time wresting her psyche from his controlling grasp.
