What’s Your Number?

In honor of Halloween, we're going back to our Double Halloween Header, Number 7: Halloween Hookups, originally published last spring. We hope this episode will inspire double double toil and trouble this Saturday night! May your fires burn, may your cauldrons bubble.

In episode Number 12: The Chill Girl, Mariah and Olivia both try to be super chill. Like, who cares, right?

Mariah goes with the flow when a nice guy offers to cook her dinner on the first date. When the sparks fail to fly after an underwhelming, protein-packed meal, she'll start to wonder if she should make the plans next time. Plus, you know who really could care less? Number 5. And he makes it known when he comes through town on a visit.

Olivia finds herself in Valparaíso, Chile, working and living in a hostel with four burly men. She learns to not give a fuck: smoke inside and party till the sun comes up! But when one of the new roommates starts playing some mind games, he'll put her chillness to the test.

We are SO excited to release this interview with Amanda Millie (@mandsmillie) and Amelia Fergusson (@prettygirlscantwrite) from the podcast Name to Be Determined. Amanda and Amelia are two writers and best friends based in London who host a hilarious podcast about life, sex, relationships, parenting, etc, all told from their unique, witty perspectives. 

We had Amanda and Amelia on to each tell a story of a particular sexual experience, a la What's Your Number. Amelia recounted a side-splitting tale of a drunken hookup with a suitor we'll call Number 6. Amanda opened up about her sexual awakening in a foreign country with a certain Number 13. 

The four of us bond over sexual self-realization, about dating in London and in Barcelona, about orgasms (of course), and a whole lot more.

In episode Number 10: Wanderlust, the well-traveled women finally get traveling!

That's right. In this, the 10th episode, both podcast ho(st)s hit the road and meet some cuties along the way. 

Mariah joins a film crew and heads to Guatemala. As luck would have it, she meets a sensitive poet to keep her warm during the monsoon's cold, rainy months. Will he win out over the more assertive, older guy hanging around town?

Still in Portland, Olivia goes on her first-ever Tinder date. It's a total disaster, but she's not worried because she's got a one-way ticket to Lima, Peru. Still, something isn't quite right. It's like she's under a chemical spell of some kind. Will she find her way over to the wild side?

There are so many different places for two people to be. Far apart physically, in age, experience, and in their feelings for one another.

Olivia reconnects with an old friend from high school and is pretty excited about it. But when he bounces right after a hook-up, she's left feeling a bit rebuffed. Additionally, a present-day dig into old text messages reveals the fallacies of long-term memory.

Mariah has a new lease on life after all that she's been through. An older drummer takes her out on her first-ever dinner date with a stranger. But does she like him? Like, like him like him?

Olivia runs into another co-worker (not to be confused with Number 4 or Number 6!) at a bar on Halloween when she's twenty-two. He's dressed as Crocodile Dundee and is all about the land down under. A wanderer at heart, this won't be the last night she spends with him.

Mariah is twenty and getting over a breakup with Number 5. Eager to get her groove back, she heads to a rave on Halloween and ends up inviting a cute musician in a dog costume back to her place. Things get a little messy when Number 5 has a Halloween revelation and goes off in search of the woman he loves.
