  • 10 No-Cost, Low-Cost Ways to Market Your Business
[[:encoded, "Great marketing goes beyond traditional marketing strategies. We’re entering a whole new era of online and offline marketing that allow you to market one-to-many for the best results. You don’t need expensive marketing resources to produce great results - here’s where you can get creative and have fun! Here are 10 No-Cost and Low-Cost Ways to Market Your Businesses.\n\nTip #1: Reach Out To Strategic Partners\nStrategic Partners are a complement (not competition) to your business (as your business is to theirs). Provide an Ideal Client Description and ask if they know someone who is an ideal fit. If they do know someone who would benefit from working with you, ask them to pass along your contact information to the prospect. (Asking for the prospect’s contact information - and contacting them directly - may not always be appropriate. Follow the Strategic Partner’s client privacy policy before contacting the prospect.) Last but not least - return the favor.\n\nTip #2: Develop Joint-Venture Projects\nJoint-Ventures are gaining popularity as we find (in a challenging economy) it’s not only more effective, but sometimes necessary, to pool resources together. This marketing strategy accomplishes two goals: 1) Gets your business in front of a new market and 2) Allows opportunities for new or creative products or services you may have previously been unable to provide. *Choose Joint-Venture Partners wisely… once a partnership is formed, reputations will inevitably be tied to one another.\n\nTip #3: Build a Community\nThe power of the community deeply serves us, as we continue to recover from economic hardship. Create an in-person or virtual community where like-minded business owners can meet once a week to discuss marketing strategies that work or brainstorm new and innovative ways to attract ideal clients. Use your business brand or personal philosophy as an anchor to the community and you’ll be providing what no one else can.\n\nTip #4: Update Client Success Stories\nYou may have client testimonials, but do you have updated their success stories? Contact clients who have worked with you and ask them to provide their latest success story by specifically tying at least one piece of their success to something they learned or were provided by your product, program, or service. The greater the success story - the greater the value that directly ties back to your business. Promote the updated testimonials and remember to put them on your website.\n\nTip #5: Hold an Open House\nIn-person networking is powerful! Host a lunch, happy hour or networking meeting at your home or office. Invite a small group of key people who can help you spread the word about an upcoming program/event or time-sensitive promotion. (“Key” people are colleagues, partners, friends, associates who have direct connections to your ideal clients.) You may want to consider asking these key people to bring other people who they think could benefit from your product or services to meet you in person. \n\nTip #6: Leverage Your Resources\nEvery aspect of your business from your voice mail to in-person networking should be highlighting reasons why people should be working with you. Share client success stories and current promotions year-round on/in/at: your website | outgoing voicemail message | email footer | social networking accounts (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter) | printed marketing materials | networking events | seminars and live events | business cards | articles | etc.\n\nTip #6: Leverage The Internet\nWhile in-person networking remains one of the most powerful ways to connect with prospective clients, the leveraging power of the internet is undeniable. Thanks to the internet it is possible for you to transform your marketing plan from a one-to-one approach to one-to-many. Article marketing and social networking are just two powerful examples of how to market one-to-many online.\n\nTip #8: Blog for Business\nA blog is an essential part of your website’s

  • 6 Tips for Getting More Clients Without Working Harder
[[:encoded, "Most entrepreneurs experience a critical stage in their business where they need to consistently build their client base, yet they don’t have the time or resources to devote to serving more clients. So how do you get more clients without working harder? Learn how with these 6 tips. \n\nTip #1: Create Information Resources\nRegardless of your industry, your business has a powerful point of leverage that can be used to find and keep more clients: information. Create free and low-cost channels through which you can introduce yourself and your business - without significant time or effort investment on the backend. This is the “Create-It-And-Leave-It” method that creates not only more avenues for prospects to learn about you, but also expands your market reach and/or revenue.\n\nTip #2: Stand Out\nTo get the attention of ideal prospects, you must stand out from the crowd. Everyday information isn’t unique information. You have to show ideal prospects what makes you different from others in your industry. Be willing to share personal and professional experiences - and the lessons you’ve learned from those experiences. You have a unique perspective that separates you from the crowd. When you begin sharing what makes you different, it becomes easier for your ideal prospect to identify you from the rest of the crowd.\n\nTip #3: Create Low-Touch, High Volume Programs\nA common mistake among many entrepreneurs is spending too much time on non-paying prospects and low-end clients. This is you if: you find your schedule is maxed out, and you’re not creating enough revenue. The solution is to create a way to reach low-end clients that does not require a direct exchange of your time or effort. Create free and low-end solutions like the ones mentioned in Tip #1 where you can reach a larger pool of prospects and paying clients without having to work harder.\n\nTip 4: Create High-Touch, Low Volume Programs\nYour unique expertise and personal attention are your greatest points of leverage in your business. Some clients don’t want a home-study program, they want personal attention. The unique combination of your personal and professional experiences allows you to bring a unique perspective (and information) to your clients. Leverage it to create a high-end solution that provides individual or small group attention to top-level clients.\n\nTip 5: Honor Your Core Values\nIf you’re working too hard and still not generating the revenue you desire, you may not be honoring your core values. These core values, when sacrificed, create disharmony, frustration, and struggle in your life and business. Honor your core values and you create flow, ease and success. Know your core values and adjust your business model accordingly. The key here is to learn from other successful entrepreneurs, but put your own spin on it. When you honor your core values you’ll find a magic formula that allows you to work the way it works for you. In turn, your clients will be better served. \n\nGo to http://www.accountabilitycoach.com/values-clarification/ and download a complimentary values clarification exercise to help you get clear on exactly what your values really are. \n\nTip 6: Follow Your Inspiration\nRemember, getting more clients doesn’t necessarily mean working harder. When you’re designing ways for more clients to work with you - follow your inspiration. Follow what feels good - what excites you. Be innovative - creative. Keep in mind: Just because it hasn’t been done before doesn’t mean that it can’t be done.\n\nNOTE: If you do get value from these Podcasts, please take a minute to leave me a short review at iTunes. • 3 Steps to Writing an Effective Business Plan that Inspires
[[:encoded, "Today we are going to talk about 3 Steps to Writing an Effective Business Plan that Inspires Action.\n\nThe idea of starting your own business can be exciting and inspiring, but for most small business owners, writing an effective business plan is not considered an exciting part of starting the process; therefore, many choose not to create one. Traditional business plans can be very dry and uninteresting, so you are about to learn how to create an effective business plan that not only gets you excited, it will inspire you, and others, to take action.\n\nThe length and details of an effective business plan will be determined by the type of business you’re creating. The key is to create not just another business plan, but an effective business plan that inspires you, and others, to take action. \n\nFirst, let’s get clear on the essentials components of an effective business plan:\n\n-Executive Summary \n-Market Analysis \n-Company Description \n-Organization & Management \n-Marketing & Sales Management \n-Service or Product Line \n-Funding Request \n-Financials \n-Appendix\n\nPart 1: Executive Summary\nThe executive summary is the most important component of an effective business plan because it will be the first thing the reader sees. This is where you’ve got to grab the reader’s attention and inspire them to support your vision through your mission statement. Provide a history of your company, its current standing, and future vision.\n\nPart 2: Market Analysis\nThis is your opportunity to shine and highlight your knowledge of the industry. This will also be where you will identify your target market and what you know about them. \n\nPart 3: Company Description\nKeeping it brief, describe how all the elements of your business fit together. Be sure to clarify the marketplace need and how your company is poised for a competitive edge.\n\nPart 4: Operation and Management\nIn this component, include your business’s organizational structure, details about ownership, and profiles of your management team. A key factor in this section is to clarify what kind of incentives and bonuses will be provided to keep your staff motivated and employed.\n\nPart 5: Marketing and Sales Management\nUse this section to share your vision for getting and growing your customer/client base - as they will be the lifeblood of your business. \n\nPart 6: Service or Product Line\nHere is where you will want to focus on the distinct advantage your product or service has over the competition. Be sure to carry your passionate message throughout this section and back it up with concrete data.\n\nPart 7: Funding Request\nA vital component to an effective business plan. Clearly define the amount of funding you are requesting and long-range strategies that could impact your ability to repay the funding. Outline best and worst case scenarios and back up your request with financial statements. \n\nPart 8: Financials\nThis is where you will include financial documents to justify your statements in previous components.\n\nPart 9: Appendix\nThis is where all additional documents will be placed for the reader on an as-needed basis.\n\nNow that we’ve clarified the essential components of an effective business plan, let’s discuss how to write an effective business plan that inspires action:\n\n3 ACTION STEPS:\n1. Create a compelling story\n2. Voice your passion and inspiration\n3. Be confident\n\nCreate a Compelling Story\nWriting a compelling story will be the factor to inspire action; this is what you will want to focus on in the executive summary. Obviously, the purpose is to inspire venture capitalists or a bank to fund your vision, but you can also use it to inspire your own motivation to drive the success of the business. Be as heartfelt and passionate as you can when sharing your mission statement and the vision of the company, because it will be that sincerity and passion that will create empathy from the reader.\n\nWhatever your visi

  • 3 Reasons Why Beck-and-Call is NOT a Better Business
[[:encoded, "Today we are going to talk about 3 Reasons Why Beck-and-Call is Not Better Business and working my appointment only is better client service.\n\nThere is a huge misconception that the best business is a business that is at the beck-and-call of its clients. The truth is that the best business is a business that effectively sets boundaries, and manages and exceeds client expectations in order to maintain a productive and effective flow.\n\nIf you are constantly juggling clients, answering the phone at all hours of the day, interrupting your personal time to fit in business, and feeling stressed, here are 3 Reasons Why Beck-and-Call is Not Better Business.\n\n1. It’s Impossible to Manage Client Expectations\nWithout structure and a solid foundation of rules and regulations, managing client expectations is impossible. They will expect the world, and will be sorely disappointed, when you do not deliver it. In other words, without boundaries, it’s quite possible they will expect everything.\n\nYou may find yourself, at one point or another, running yourself ragged juggling multiple clients, all of whom expect your undivided attention. When you find it impossible to meet the expectations of your clients, your business will suffer in more than one way. You’ll be exhausted and clients will be left dissatisfied. No one wins.\n\nClient expectations can only be effectively managed by outlining specific deliverables from the very beginning. If this isn’t possible (if the working relationship has already begun), then establish and communicate boundaries to clients as soon as you can.\n\n2. It’s Impossible to Effectively Manage Your Business\nImagine how effectively you can manage your business when you’re struggling to meet multiple demands of multiple clients? Instead of having time to focus on building your business, you’ll be struggling just to maintain it. That’s no way to run your business. It’s much like multi-tasking - it doesn’t work well.\n\nIf you’re consumed with meeting the high demands of unbridled client expectations, your business isn’t running with the greatest effectiveness or efficiency. You’re spending too much time on an overly demanding client, instead of focusing on other areas of your business that also require your attention in order to be successful. \n\nYou know you’re not effectively running your business (it’s actually running you) when:\n\n•\tYou become exhausted and resentful of demanding clients (and eventually become resentful of your business, which detracts from your path of success).\n\n•\tHighly demanding clients without a ceiling on expectations are impossible to please (and miserable to work with).\n\n•\tClients with irrational or unreasonable expectations never provide glowing business reviews (they’re often negative and damage your professional reputation).\n\n•\tYou must have time to focus on other areas of your business other than client service (like finding and signing on prospective clients).\n\n•\tInstead of creating a straight path to success, you’re running yourself (and your business) into the ground.\n\n3. It’s Impossible to Maintain Peace and Balance\nIf you’re constantly juggling unreasonable client expectations, it will be impossible to maintain any sense of peace and balance in your personal or professional life. You may feel like you’re sacrificing your personal life for your business, or the important professional tasks that cannot be completed because you’re catering to an overly-demanding client.\n\nAt some point, hopefully before total burnout, you learn to recognize what’s really important: sometimes saying no is the best thing. It’s vital to learn to say no to over-delivering on services clients have not paid for; no to things you do more out of obligation rather than joy; no to things that consume your schedule leaving little or no down time or freedom to do what you truly want and love to do. When you’ve overextended yourself too far the only way to regain a sense

  • Are you a victim or a master?
There is one solid rule you can count on: successful entrepreneurs never think of themselves as victims. This is the major factor that separates the wealthy from the poor. The wealthy understand they are 100% responsible for their reality, making them masters of accountability. When there is no one to blame, there is no finger to point, and therefore, no crime. With no crime, there cannot be a victim. Period. There is something magical that happens when you take 100% responsibility for your own success – and that is a feeling of freedom. You are your own entity and you control your own destiny; it all starts with your beliefs.
