Fear is a natural part of the human experience—even for those who follow God. Psalm 56 reminds us that faith is not the absence of fear, but the response to it. David writes, “What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee,” acknowledging that fear will come, but making a decision ahead of time to respond with trust in God. Fear often comes from uncertainty about the future—things we cannot control or fully understand. But instead of allowing fear to overwhelm us, we are called to replace it with faith. By trusting God, praising Him, and resting in His Word, we shift our focus from what we don’t know to the One who knows all things.
